We had our annual Ferrari Club track day at Kyalami Race Track outside Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday with a good turnout of 85 cars. Got my first view of the 430, the first 2 to arrive in the country a few weeks ago, were there. Also the only Enzo in the country made it's track debut. It may be old news for you guys in the First World but it caused a stir here. The sad thing is it's been sitting on the dealers floor for the last 6 months while they fight with the licensing authorities who won't license it since it's LHD. So in all likelihood it will be going to find a new home in Europe shortly.

Had a great day - only a few incidents, one 328 had to be taken away on a stretcher after hitting a barrier. Ouch!

Yeah, yeah, I know, Ferraris are supposed to be red, but that grid pic is ridiculous. Is every Ferrari in SA red save the one poor yellow one?

I really admire those who buy Ferraris in places like that .
They are really passionate about the car.

is the F50 still there ?

Nice pics. It would be fun to race all the other Ferraris in an Enzo.

Yes. I THINK it may be owned by the same guy who owns the Enzo. How did you know there was a F50 in SA?

It is a very passionate club, we have 3 branches Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. I think there are about 20 members each in Durban and Cape Town, and about 100+ in Johannesburg.

Mostly the cars are from the 80's onwards; it seems there are more 360's than anything else. Very little remains in SA from pre 308's. Amongst others are a couple of Dino's and 365's, a 275 GTB, a 250 GTE, and a 166!!

Hi River Flyer... Just in case you thought all the yellow F-cars were hiding at the other end of the grid, out of the frame...you were right.

Those wheels make the F40 look sooooooo much better. The stock wheels just don't do it.

We'll maybe just the licensing will "find a new home in Europe" ;) I would not be surprised if you will continue to see that car in SA but with Euro plates.

What a great turnout though! Good to see all those Ferrari's in SA. How is the presence of other exotics? Lot's of Lambo's etc?

    Thanks for sharing.

Quite a few Lambos, also mostly Murcielagos and Gallardos . There is a new state-of-the-art dealership / workshop so they are doing lots of marketing and attracting lots of clients.

It was announced last week that we are getting an Aston Martin franchise in Johannesburg, so that should be good.

LOTS of Porsches around from oldies to GT3's, also no GT Carreras though because of the whole LHD issue (not sure if Porkers are considered exotics though).

There is one Mclaren F1. Apparently they got around the licensing rules by keeping the drivers seat in the middle and taking the RHS rear seat out when it went for it's roadworthy test, making it effectively a RHD car!

Also have seen 1 or 2 Nobles M400's around. It's weird, the chassis / body gets built here and then shipped to the UK for the engine, transmission and finishing, but virtually none of them make it back here again.
