During our tests at the Mojave Air and Space Port, we ran the Enzo against a supercharged Corvette. At 2,600 feet, the Corvette was very fast, maybe even faster than a Veyron. Throttle response was instant as you can hear in the video. The first part was from the turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa. The second part was from the Corvette.

That looks like too much fun.
I thought that the Hayabusa would have been much quicker than that.

I know, but it was fun to see what someone could do with a small V8. The vette was limited to 180 so the Enzo walked by shortly later at 190. At sea level, the Enzo would have been noticeably faster.

Yes it was much faster than both of us. He stayed behind to take the video.

Yes. The owner will likely join in to re-direct people to his sites if you want to learn more about his car. I posted here because I thought it was interesting to see how far some people are going with their cars, and this technology could be used on any car. It's perfectly streetable, but VERY loud.

To say the least. Good grief that thing sounded angry.

    Thanks for the video!

Thank you Bill for posting, once again this is not a thread about "Its only a Chevy" or its only a "Vette". But it does show what American ingenuity can do on these cars, and not to compare it to an Enzo, but what a fantastic performance car the C6 is in its own right.

couldn't agree more. So what if it is "only a Chevy" The smile factor and the amount of bang for the buck the Corvette produces is simply amazing. I never have been a Corvette fan, ever. But at the risk of being redundant, there is nothing straight from the factory for the price that can even come close-IMHO-warranty and all.

Which Corvette has a "small V8"? That thing sounds and goes like a beast though! I'm sure 200mph+ would be no problem.
Regarding the comments that it's just a Chevy, I agree. But for a fun toy, it's cheap to mod and fix.

A Vette that just hammered an Enzo!

As much as I love Vettes though, I'd still take the Enzo. :)

I'm not sure I'd still call it a Vette. It's basically a new car created by some very smart people. Kind of like the twin-turbo Enzo that's being built or Jim's car. Yes the starting car cost less, but the results are still impressive.

I don't care what anyone says that vette is bad azz.

Come to think about it all C5 and C6 vettes are very impressive. Most people who own them wouldn't (or can't) own a Ferrari and that's cool. Most people who own an F car don't have a Vette either.

As someone that has ridden a turbo busa, it is simply amazing at how fast fast can happen.

My friend who owns this bike also owns a 8.5 second 1/4 drag bike. While riding the drag bike he blew past me as though I was standing still, this was even after he gave me a couple second head start, we did start at probably 40-50mph for this little speed test.

Some people around here are top level snobs. Makes me wonder about the character of most F Car owners at times. Luckily the ones I know are really nice people and, most importantly, car people.

    Really sad.

BTW, lots of F Car owners also own Vettes.
