Hey Richard..just to let you know...those pictures are just awesome...fantastic. Umm if I may ask...what camera did you use to take those pictures? I am thinking about getting a Canon EOS 35OD and wondering what your masterful opinions are on it. Thanks
go for the Rebel XT youll be much happier IMO. heres a link to my photography with it- www.JTPhotos.net
Thanks I use a 20D to take the images I post here, along with a few decent lenses. The 350D is a nice camera and is similar in many ways to the 20D. The biggest differences are in full manual settings and in the quality of the camera body. The 350D body is significantly cheaper in quality than the 20D or a comparable Nikon DSLR. If body quality or camera feel are not a big issue to you, then I doubt you'll ever have a complaint -- it is an incredibly capable camera. A 350D is a Rebel XT
Thanks Richard. Yesterday I got the 350D and I admit the quality 'feel' of the body is not that great but I bought it over the Nikon D50 mainly because of the lower m.p of the Nikon and also that the lower quality issues are not really important to me.. Thanks again and have fun snapping up those awesome Enzo pics !
Wow! That is AMAZING work, just wow. I wish I can get to that level some day! Great post-processing as well. It seems as if the higher resolution versions are broken links, let me guess, too much bandwidth? Could you possible put them up again? Maybe on imageshack.us if you cant share them, if not I'll pm my email and you can send them there. Once again, great great job! What lenses were used if you don't mind me asking? And how much post-processing? Any tips and tricks?
Richard, superb photography. May I ask what you do to the contrast of the picture to get those grey whites? Did you play with exposure in CS2? I would reeeally like to know your secret to those subdued highlights.
Richard, You know I taught you everything you know, so where is the credit???? Oh, I got word today that I found living in New Orleans!!! Will be back to harass you over x-mas
Thanks all for the kind words I removed the high resolution images due to the fact that some folks who will remain unmentioned were removing my credit, printing the photos, or even offering them for sale! Kind of hard to believe, I know. I have attatched an archive file to this post which contains five of the images posted here sized for use as 1024x768 wallpapers. I realize that this is significantly lower resolution than my first postings, but apparently I can no longer offer images at that size without people taking advantage of what I do. The lens used to capture these images is a Canon 17-40 L. It is a wonderful lense which I've been using happily for a while now. The post is difficult to explain, but I do not go overboard. Most of my time is spent removing dust particles from the lens since that is a very dusty climate! I do a small amount of color work, but no serious alteration of the image. All of these images are shot raw (Canon CR2). The "subdued" highlight effects you are talking about are largely created by the lighting conditions that day -- the rolling fog made for a nice softbox effect. Rather than the highlights, the majority of visible postwork in this image series is in the shadows. The method I used here plays to the highlights by adding contrast to the shadow areas. Sorry I didn't acknowledge you earlier, baby...can't wait to see you back in nola! Hope all is well until then Here is a link to the archive I mentioned earlier in my post: Enzo Wallpapers 1.09MB (Save Target As)
Just tell me what you'd like a print of It's not as cost-effective to do individual prints, but anything is possible. If there is significant interest in one particular print (ie five or more), it would be less expensive.
You know how I roll dawwwwwg! Quick story. 10 minutes after I talked to you while driving down Route 66 I slowly(yeah right) pass a Yukon that had its driver side-rear tire looking underinflated. As I passed him I thought, 'damn, I wish I could let him know he needs to pull off at the next exit to check out that tire, but if I flag him down now on the interstate he will think I am crazy. Oh well, I better get past him quickly in case that sucker blows and he loses it" I pass, 30 seconds go by, look in the rearview, and what do I see? Kaboom! Tire explodes! Car swerves ALL over the road and comes to a stop on the shoulder! No joke!
Sooooo many choices! CGT and Enzo, or Enzo and F50, turning into some place (preferably a cool location ) Dusk would be very cool. They don't have to be actively turning in, possibly just both sitting there with wheels turned in. I think you should just work your magic and i'll like what you do. O O O O, if you got access to a black murci roadster...... And on a somewhat related note, I'm not sure what OS you use for your work, but have you been keeping an eye on Apple's Apperature? Looks very promising.
Ah, I meant prints of stuf I have already done Of course I would photograph any of the combinations you mentioned here, given the opportunity I use both PC and Mac. I think that much like Apple's video title 'Motion', 'Aperture' will be a shot at the intro/new user segment. Mac lacks the experience in GUI development for graphics applications which would be required to take on Photoshop, which has a much richer palette of tools as well as more support from 3rd party developers and the user community at large.

Richard, again, great work! I would be interested in posters, and I don't think you'll have a problem selling these, especially not on this board. ruji.net just started selling posters, his work is great but yours is not far away at all, especially not these!
