I think he would have had to be involved considering the labor issues that his country and his factory delt with thru the years.

In Brock Yates' book, he took every opportunity to dig up dirt on Enzo, but on this subject he says:

"There is no evidence whatsoever that Enzo Ferrari ever had serious dealings with the Italian Mafia, either in Italy or in the United States. While such a connection is possible, no historian or former associate, no matter how critical he might be, has ever suggested that Enzo Ferrari had any linkage with the underworld. If the rumors persist, it is in part because of the mysterious disappearance of Tony Parravano."

Interesting thought. I would think, or, at least beleive that there was nothing of interest inside of Ferrari to the mafia. What does the mafia exist for? Money. Lots of it. Mafia is there to skim a percentage off of everyone so everyone is one big happy family(no pun intended). Enzo built Ferrari cars to feed his racing addiction, so from a business standpoint Enzo is not the most profitable guy around. But his products are works of automotive performance art.

In picture 1, Ferruccio "The Rat" Lamborghini is seen singing like a canary before Congress identifying by name what was until then, not known to Law Enforcement - La Cosa Nostra - he changed his nickname to "The Bull" and a few years later, as shown in picture 2, testified again. Weasel!
