when I was at the Maranello Rosso in San Marino a few years back, one of the guys working there was telling me about a movie documenting Enzo (I believe this is the one he was speaking about). In any case he said that they used a lot of the cars from the Maranello Rosso collection in that particular film.

Very interesting, depressing and a slow kinda movie but the man himself had gone through hell himself and I dont expect the movie to be races and all. Good but not a great production.

Not to give the story away, but the whole "reporter, who isn't a reporter, who is the son of a deceased driver, who isn't the son of a deceased driver, who is..." was a strange (and fictional) way to arrive at the necessary exposition.

Oh...! LOL... i thought you were talking about my article when you said it was a "strange way to tell a story"... The way they did it, in my opinion, is brilliant... There's a reason they did it that way... i don't want to give away anything; call me tonight, we'll discuss it then...

Sorry, I haven't read your article yet. (I'm one of the "dinosaurs" that still prefer to wait for a hard copy, remember?) Talk to you later.

Just make sure you cook up the pasta sauce just right and make sure the pasta is NOT al dente prior to watching the movie!!!

If you are nice to Carbon he might send everyone a pound of pasta with the DVD!

I bought this DVD movie and I have to say that it's really good. I was very impressed. Great story, really interesting and held my interest the entire time. The movie really shows you what battles/struggles Enzo dealt with to get where he wanted to go. Great love and passion for cars and racing....Simply outstanding!

What was interesting to me is the fact that it does touch on what went on at Enzo's factory during World War II, a period on which little has been said.

Okay so I watched the movie last night. For those that truly know the history of the man & company this was pretty well presented. I would have liked more emphasis on Ferrari's F1 program and more about Le Mans but clearly the producers had way too much material to work with and had to be pretty disciplined in their focus. The most difficult parts of the movie were those segments dealing with Dino and his untimely death. Very touching. Overall an okay portrayal and one to recommend. Thanks again to Carbon for bringing this to our attention.

My copy came in yesterday, and I watched about 45 minutes of it so far.

I have to say that it is very well done, and it is very informative. It is a bit long, however.

The way in which the story is told is very heartwarming and realistic, and I highly recommend to all. A great collector's piece.

Unfortunately the audio is mono and the picture size is not quite accurate, but it plays out ok. It should prove to be a valuable part of any F-chatter's collection.

I would also suggest a photo purchase of Chinetti's NY retail store by Paul Medici of Rolling Meadows, Illinois. It's $44.00 including the postage, and it is very historic. They are numbered pictures.

Carbon, you out did yourself with advising of this DVD.

And I bought an original not a "carbon" copy!

    Many thanks.

Watched it a few months ago...very touching and well presented I feel, and to my mind largely accurate portral of Enzo Ferrari, what I particularly found touching was the bit about Gilles and how Piero was only later acknowledged as his son.
