Six months ago, i remember hearing about the first Enzo selling for "under a million". I believe it went for $995k. Now an Enzo for $900k? $900,100 right now and reserve is MET. I know this isnt the ideal Enzo specimen with the engine swap ... but I am surprised at how quickly these cars are falling in price. It was only 18 months ago they were 1.2-1.3 for the best specimens ... now 1.05-1.1 for practically "new" (30-500 mi) vehicles. "used" cars (2-5k miles) are going for 925k-1mm. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-Ferrari-Enzo-Yellow-Tan-Only-One-Like-It-In-U-S_W0QQitemZ4588426617QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem At this declining rate, we will see some trade for 825k by May/June 2006. Possible?
Even if the car is 825k car is still $180k more then sticker. Still not a bad ROI doing some quick in head math Erik
This car has been posted several times on ebay, so that could have something to do with the low reserve. Enzo prices are dropping but people do lower reserves just so bidders are more enticed to bid thinking they might be able to get it cheaper than before, then all of a sudden its bidded up to a higher price than the original reserve. Might not be the case here but it has happened. Mark
If only it was just 600K lower - I would take it... I'm a little suprised that it is not closer to 1mm as well - even with the engine swap - it will be interesting to see where it closes...
Just was looking at the current high bidder... He just sold a automatic BB Gun (to a happy buyer). The description is hilarious - "used it a few times to shoot cats and birds off of telephone wires... Not recommended"... He also just bought some snowboard boots... So I am pretty sure this buyer is ready to step up to a nice 900K Enzo
New motor from Ferrari. Cool BUT just curious, would the car still be matching numbers or does this engine swap have a diff. # from the chassis. Just wondering, hope it aint a stupid question.
Hey, check it out. The current bidder is gone... but look at the bid history: People are bidding on this car and retracting the bids! Four people have done this already. Back to 900,000 (reserve not met). I think people are bidding on it just to say they "bid $900k on an Enzo" and when they see their bid at 900,100 or whatever and find out the "Reserve is met", they pee in their pants and retract the bid. The 900,100 reserve is such a low price that it is fooling a lot of people to just throw a bid in there ?
I didn't know you could just retract your bid because you "entered the wrong amount" Seems like sellers could be ripped off easily this way
I think the chances of acting successfullly against a dishonored bid for $900,000 is really slim, so it's better just to allow the bogus bid to be retracted.
well I figured I would make my first post for the hell of it. The dealership that was trying to sell this car is local to me (seems like a very nice dealership too), granted I have an RX-8 and probably will never be able to afford a Ferrari, but I am kinda interested in what ClassicFerrari asked, is it a big deal that the engine in this car is different from the one that came in it from the factory?
