Bugatti is very easy, like a Mercedes on steroids. You could drive it anywhere. CGT is next. Fairly easy to get in and out of and a great long distance cruiser with the top down. Good visibility and fairly comfortable with radio, electric windows, etc. Most people don't know what it is. Watch out for bumps! The clutch is a little hard, but not a big deal. Great sound with the top off.

The Enzo is the last in terms of everyday comfort and driving around town. Everyone either knows what it is, or wants to find out what it is. Loud! It's really a track car and needs to be driven fast for the biggest thrill. It's harder to get in and out of, less rearward visibility and it's wider. Front elevator is good. Paddle shifters are fun, but you need to take it to redline to really enjoy.

But while the Veyron is kind of boring unless you're accelerating, the Enzo and CGT are enjoyable at lower speeds, with the CGT being more fun for normal driving and the Enzo more fun for aggressive driving.

If I was going on a long trip where I could do some spirited driving, I would choose the Enzo over the CGT. I could also fit a lot more in the front! For around town, CGT over Enzo. For driving on a warm clear night, CGT with top off! They are pretty different cars, but I would miss them equally for the things each does best.

The BendPak lifts use two completely seperate locking levers on all four posts for added safety. The main locking levers use air pressure and the secondary levers are activated if a cable should fail (very unlikely). We have an air compressor hidden in the attic for the main air locking levers.

Thanks for that! A CS and F40 side-by-side would look really nice. The CS is kind of the modern version of the F40 (IMHO, not the 599 as Ferrari likes to say). They would make a great pair.

 

Trouble is it's nicer than mine too! My wife is getting ideas...

 

BendPak sells gadgets to keep them upright. We should have those tomorrow. Then you need to use small stops behind the rear wheels because the downward ramps double as stops.

 

Me too! The yellow, red and black cars should look good against the floor. It's almost like adding furniture!

Thanks, and you are very observant! The slab is at least 3" thick and rated at over 2,000 psi, including the Ardex Moisture Control System and tile mortar. So those are well within the distributed weight.

The breaking strength for high-fired Terra Cotta tile is almost unbelievable (see below). They will not break until nearly 1,700 lbs is applied to the tile supported by 3 supports in a 3.5" circle. So no problem when cemented down (and back buttered) with the weight distribution you see here. Porcelain tile is only 350-400 lbs.

We may embed the footings into the tile for aesthetic reasons, but it may not be worth the effort if we change the pads to black. Also, the lift crossmember would hit the floor more than they do now.
