I believe the picture was taken on the day the owner/driver picked up the car from the airport. The picture was on one of the car magazines last year (can't remember which mag). Seen it before.
The dealer tells me he has an Enzo in the port waiting for the paper work to clear, hopefully for the Ferreri event here on the 6th June.
Which dealer ??? The Shanghai office of Italian Motors ? I didn't know they were fully operational now in Shanghai. Will you be joing their event on 6 June ??? It should be fun. I hear they will be going to the Shanghai F1 track for a test-drive too.
I think it looks so at home with those chinese characters in the bus. LOL (Doesn't Enzo seem to be taken out of a japanese comic ?)
They might have more than one dealer that sells Ferrari's. When I was there last Christmas, we went by this dealer showroom(which might not be a Ferrari dealer, likely some exotic dealers for multi-brands) somewhere on Nanjing road I believe, it had a Modena, a GT2 and a Mucie on the floor. What event is it for 6/6?
My good friend Stewart just posted some pics of an Ezno in HK, he got to sit in it and look it over...apparently a friend of his brother's. http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18240 There are apparently more than a couple over there....
Superior Motors will be one of the two dealers The Chairman is Mr. Hong Bing from Hong Kong. I took my 308 there last week, the guys were not impressed nor were they sure what it was, also when I told them it was costing 100$US to have a part fixed for my light switch, they did not think it was worth spending the money on such an old car. The Ferrari day cost 7000RMB for which they will ship your car from Beijing, put you in a hotel, feed you dinner with Luca and let you drive three laps round the F1 track. If you live in Shanghai and can drive to the dinner and the track the cost is 7000RMB if you want to take your wife with you without her Ferrari then the cost is another 7000RMB. The F1 track opens on the same day and Ferrari F1 team are to be in attendance with we are not sure but the rumor is, three 2003 cars and three drivers not sure who will have time, but we do know Luca will be there. Yes all that said it should be a good day as there will be other things on at the track, even some racing. But no I will not be attending the dealer pantomime Superior Motors will be one of the two dealers The Chairman is Mr. Hong Bing from Hong Kong. Karen and I were hand delivered our invitations for the grand opening and 612 Scaglietti unveiling on Friday. There wasn't a cost listed for these 2 events, but the cards said invitation only. I'm going to ask them about the track and dinner events when I RSVP on Monday.
If I remember correctly I think 35 F cars from Hong Kong will drive to this event and Italian Motors is charging HK$35,000 for the 10 day trip. Does anyone know how many China F cars will likely show up? Unfortunately I will not be able to join the drive to Shanghai from HK, because my Formula Renault racing at Shanghai circuit is held during the same weekend at the circuit. If you are interested in watching the races you can get some info about the Formula Renaults on www.frdsports.com There are supposed to be other races, but don't know what type of cars yet. Trackday for the Ferraris is actually scheduled for the following Monday. Disappointed I will miss the China drive and trackday at the new circuit, but I figured actual racing will be a lot more fun and I still get to see all the Ferrari activities there. It's going to be a fantastic event.
Are you sure the whole event would last 10 days? I thought for those of us from Hong Kong we can't pick up the cars until Jun 4 and there weren't much after the 'exclusive track day' on Monday June 6?
I counted the 10 days including the drive up to Shanghai. Since I did not sign up for the drive, your latest info from IMSS is certainly more up to date than what I recall from the invitation letter.
I RSVP'ed through the dealership in Beijing. They didn't offer any information on the dinners or the track events. Only signed up for the showroom opening and the 612 unveiling. But, on the other hand, both of these were free.
If you are going to be in town for the grand opening and the unveiling, PM me and I'll give you my mobile number. I don't know what the plan is on Friday or Saturday night for the "official" dinners, but I can put something together (at a much lower price) if anyone is interested. Western or Chinese, no difference to me. Nice Chinese is still 1/5 the price of nice Western.
Thanks, just sharing some common sense here. I hate to see guys w/ absolute no knowledge about cars and no driving skills wrecked thier exotics.
