Am I the only one who finds it odd that he has been a member for 2 years and this is the only thread he posted to? Also, he last logged in today. Maybe someone hijacked his account? Just is a little odd don't you think.

Some of the responses to the original post in this thread go a long way to justifying the many unfortunate, but commonly held perceptions that Ferrari owners are a bunch of pretentious, arrogant posers. The man just asked a simple question.

You guy's are real harsh treating a member like this. I happen to know Rod because he is a respected member on many other sites. Prior to owning his GT2 he had a Turbo that was modified, hence how I know because I have a 700 HP TTas well. Some of the people on this site just have no class.

Don't let some of our less-than-mature members of the forum dissuade you from visiting more often. There's such a great wealth of knowledge that's easily accessed here, it'd be a shame to deny yourself that option solely due to a few comments left in bad taste.

They only occupy a small portion of the forum, and they can be negated by the 'ignore user' feature. You can go to your Profile, and on the left side menu there's a Buddy / Ignore Lists option. This'll enable you to add anyone you to the list, and their posts won't be visble straight away, but if you want you can click a link to see the post. Really effective, and subtle.

On behalf of everyone though, we do appreciate your class and unwillingness to banter back and forth about such a menial topic.

Well not this thread anyway ;) I think the supercar forum attracts more idiots than the others because there are very VERY few owners posting here.

    I don't blame ya. I wouldn't either.

That was some ridiculously harsh and unwarranted bashing; users like that are also one of the reasons I don't visit here very often.

TeenFerrarifan says " What kind of idiot buys a house...." and the thread starter replies "The same idiot who...."

It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a masters in English to understand that he is clearly implying himself, not taking a shot at anyone else and I can't understand how that could possibly be inferred by anyone paying attention. He is implying that the cars were photographed at his summer home, not his real home, and that is not where the cars are stored.

My response would have been far less clever to that arrogant comment by Teenferrarifan who has no right to call anyone an idiot for his choice in home. Hey Teen, when you buy your first home, lets see how many garage spaces you have, OK? Be careful calling someone an idiot for not having enough garage space on a car website. I'll bet about 3/4 of the people here have more cars than garage space. We're car nuts, what do you expect?

I understand that everyone who looked at this thread was hoping for an Enzo on the dyno picture or video, but get over it, they guy asked a simple question. People immediately gave him a hard time, so he posted a picture of his cars saying he wasn't a complete poser, trying to gain a little measure of respect so people would stop cutting him down. So everyone launches into accusing him of posting pics of his neighbor's cars and dad's cars. Sheesh you guys!

rmrmd1956, I know it is hard to look past this sort of nonsense, but in the defense of this site, we have been inundated recently with a lot of trolls that come here just to stir up trouble and it really gets annoying. Now people have gotten to the point that until someone has a large post count and an established reputation, they are simply not taken seriously. It's a real problem and has been happening a lot. I can assure you that IN GENERAL the people on this site are very friendly, helpful and entertaining--and not generally mean-spirited as this thread has been.

A lot of non Fcar owners chat here and nobody gives them a hard time if they are not running around pretending to be an owner. This guy obviously is an owner, not a troll, and I think you all owe him an apology. Would you treat someone like this in person?

I daren't post because I drive a Fiat Coupé 20vt and would probably be accused of being a Ferrari wannabe.

    That was a joke.

Not the Fiat bit, that's true.

    ;)

Hey man, a Fiat is Italian, that's closer to a Ferrari than a lot of people ever get. Nobody here will give anyone a hard time for driving any car, even a total POS, as long as that person doesn't come on here with some lame story pretending to own an F40 or something. Unfortunately, it happens daily and some people have let it turn them ugly.

    It's funny that "kids" would give anybody **** about not owning a Ferrari when, they themselves possess nothing of the kind. I myself being 19, do not own a Ferrari and would never make the claim but, even if someone makes a claim of that sort and does own such a thing, who cares? Honestly what kind of internet nerd laughs at someone for not owning the same thing they don't own. I would like to point this is not an attack upon anyone in particular just an observation of things. (;
