yep - on my way home tonight and what do i see? an ENZO sitting in line for the drive-thru car wash. only in miami.

the same wash that i put my suburban through about an hour before.

ok - it isn't your average carwash - the cars go through on a conveyor belt system - not a track - but they sit on an actual belt, so no potential damage to wheels....but come ON...a million-dollar car thru a (yes...touchless) car wash?

man, i wish my blackberry had a camera in it...and no...i didn't get serial number. sorry carbon.

    (it was red)

I wash all my cars by hand. I would hope that someone with an enzo would have this passion for all their vehicles. That is sad.

That is pretty lame. It's just a pose-mobile to the owner, obviously.

IF I had an Enzo, it would probably be re-painted matte black and could be touched up with a can of Krylon at will.

    What's the problem here? :D

I'm not sure what the fuss is about.... I can see the argument to not run a car through the old style car wash because of possible paint damage. But who cares about a touchless car wash? As you said there was no danger to the car.... in any case it's just a car.

btw - nice one Chris..... Carbon just made a mess of himself

    Pretty lame indeed. . .

. . . but it's difficult to label anyone who owns an Enzo a "poser."

He probably wanted to wash the undercarriage, maybe just a basic wash. I bet he has to go through twice once just to get the excess soap out of all the ducts and tunnels.

I agree, but I would still be pretty picky about which car-wash I would take it to, but I would rarely do this. I just don't think it's that bad.

Now let's wait to see all the new owner hating that arises from this "lesser" car wash.

It was probably a rental. Don't they rent an Enzo down there? (hope I don't offend anyone, I love Enzo's too)

I think it better than paying that one guy, who washed that MC12 10K, or whaterver it was to wash it. Next time you drive ti it will need to be washed again. SO if you trust the carwash and I would hope you would to put that type of car through I think it would be ok.
I remeber reading an article in motor trend about how good LA car washes are, not sure about miami.

I don't see anything wrong with this. It's a touchless car wash on a moving belt. I don't see how the car would get damaged. I wouldn't feel bad doing that if that was my car. I don't enjoy washing cars and getting it professionally detailed would go to waste on a couple drives. :thumbs up to the owner:

Nope, not in Miami. Only one company in Germany and last time I checked it was about $25,000 a day.

i dont really see what the big deal is. sure, if i owned an Enzo i would wash it myself or have it done by a top-notch car detailer place, but i dont see any harm in taking it to the local shell station for a wash. people always say that these cars should be driven like a daily driver (not everyone says that) rather than be a garage queen, so whats the problem with washing the car the same way you would wash your other daily driver(s)?
