He will be fat, listen to country music while driving around the test track, and his suit will have sponsorship from Tide and Cheerios all over it.
They should bring back Big Stig, the Stig's American cousin from the US Cross country TOP GEAR episode. http://astrx.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/snapshot20070409234139.jpg
In the show Adam did remodelling a house with his lunatic hangers on / friends, he drove a DB9. The color scheme was horrible (I'm remembering green with red interior but could be wrong). One of the first things he did was go and have an aftermarket brake kit installed. He also drove it by Chip Foose's shop. Chip didn't appear particularly amused with Adam's antics.
Despite what Adam may say, I think there will be a lot more American stuff than actually interesting--and entertaining--cars. I also heard that they are going to use an airfield for a course...just in a different shape. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah, thank you God for inventing illegal downloading. Excuse me while I go finish watching Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.......
While I do think that the British one will far and away be better, I will watch the American version for the first few episodes to give it a chance. I'm wondering if we'll have a "Stig-off" at some point in the future, America vs. Great Britain.
Never heard of any of the presenters but I guess it will be interesting to see what its like. The UK presenters are biased towards "UK cars" (Aston Martin, Jaguar, TVR, Lotus, etc.). On several occasions they have admitted that these cars are not as good as their European rivals (Ferrari, BMW, Merc) yet they would still prefer the UK car. So umm yeah they are biased.
In all seriousness....the reason UK Top Gear is so good is not because they are unbiased, but because they are honest ABOUT their biases. Every other car magazine purports to be stating only facts....yet they are biased based on advertiser sales from manufacturers, and a whole host of other reasons.
I LOL'ed at this: "Stromer... a Camry Hybrid. Something tells us Stromer better come equipped with a thick skin." Come on.. with one of the hosts having credits like 'Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift' and another being former soap star HGTV host - how bad can this be? Hehe <now where is that sarcastic smiley when you need one..>
Here is reposter Robert_K's advice about posting. "Next time crinoid try not using boring teenage titles like "epic fail." Anyway, here's another link. http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b142958_top_gear_puts_car_in_carolla.html Doesn't appear to be new news. A link to Jay Leno's comments are in the article. I hate to agree with Jay, but I think he is right.
How do you explain Clarkson's DVD where we tested a Gallardo Spyder vs. F430 Spider and said he liked the F430 better in virtually every way, yet at the end admits to having bought a Gallardo Spyder as his own car? Did Lamborghini give him one?
What? I missed it? The DirecTV guide has it on BBC America on Monday night at 8PM EDT, but says it's a repeat from 2006. Jack.
What, you guys don't remember how he complained that his beloved 360 spyder would be full of phlegm when he would return after parking it outside because the Brits hated the Ferrari so much - that was his reason for not owning a Ferrari in the UK anymore.
