Needhams was reccomended by a couple follks but looks like they're not in biz.

I also checked ebay but didn't see a copier for the 27 series chips and no obvious contacts . .. appreciate the guidance if I'm spastic :).

I can do google but seems like the selection and price range is huge . .. don't want to spend $300 if $50 item will work just for the copying.

As fellow fchatter pm'd me, I'll need a seperate device for altering Motronic chips so just need the copier for these eproms.

Thanks for any other feedback, PM's.

    Sean

hmmm . .. looks like this device will copy the chips I need and allow the editing of the 2.7 chips if I go that route. They also have extra eproms which I need . . convenient.

$150 .. .. any comments? Seems like the way to go.

    cheers,

    Sean

edit: it's from Batronix also . .. like using what others have had good experiences with :)

okay my one comment is they're in Germany . .. be nice if someone distributed something like this in the US so I don't have to pay $60 shipping.

ordered what I need hopefully except for the ability to erase .. . because I'm getting new chips I don't need it right away but I'm sure the programmer will show up before the chips and have some old chips kicking around . . . can I just use a UV bulb from home depot or something to erase old chips? google probably has answers buried but thought someone could give quick answer.

I may have just the thing for you. I have an old uv sterilizer from a small marine tank. I've used a similar set up for erasing chips. If you need it let me know..... it is yours for the asking (as long as you keep me up to date on what you are doing) :D

I just put my uv erase chips on the windowsill for a day.

    How many do you need?

I've left them on the dashboard of my truck for a few days, that did the trick. UV is free, the only thing the erasers buy is speed. Not worth it for most home users.
