Here's my situation. I have a gym membership near my main house, and lift there. I spend a fair amount of time at my parent's house that is 3 hours from my home. It is in a very small town, but there is a local gym that I can pay to use with a reasonable equipment selection. For a number a reasons that aren't necessarily important to the discussion, I would like to have something at their home to be able to do most of my workouts.

Disclaimer--I know you can work most muscle groups with a chair and your own body weight. I know I could get something like a TRX suspension trainer. Both of those are reasonable, but I am looking to closely duplicate what I already do.

Based on room constraints, I am trying to just do one piece of equipment. I was thinking about something like a Freemotion Dual Cable Cross.

My workouts include curls, incline, flat, and decline presses, assisted dips and chins, lat pulldowns, rows, reverse flies, pulldowns and pullovers, assorted triceps extensions, leg curls, extensions, presses, assorted ab and oblique work, shrugs, etc. I think I'm hosed on the assisted dips and chins, but otherwise...

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks.

You'll probably need to get something along the lines of a Bowflex considering your space constaints. Free weights take up a ton of room (I almost have a full gym in my garage). Just visit your local Sears. I have a bench press from there and it has been extremely reliable thus far.

I've used a bowflex two times. Yes, it would work, though I'm not sure it has all of the versatility I'd like. But I don't like the range of resistance levels, and I didn't enjoy the way it felt. Plus, I don't think it is any smaller than some functional trainers. But it is vastly cheaper.
