    I topped up my 550 with about 1.5 litres of 15w-40 instead of 5w-40 - is this a serious problem or not really ? THe oil top uo light is still showing - but probably becasue car is cold...

    No other major issues here are there as will top up with 5w-40 from now on ??

    The only problem that i can imagine is a slight puff of smoke as the thicker oil is burnt off.

    No problem at all, it'll just blend with the exisitng oil, the oil viscosity will probably end up something like 8-9w - 40

    It'll be fine but are you checking it as you would have done the 355?

    bit of a worry that it needs that much oil assuming they'd checked it when you bought it?

    Yes MArk - Karl serviced it - but I have done 1k miles and took it onto Goodwood track within 4 days of buying it - so burnt a little there i think as I gave her some stick...

    Will check it out though adn keep an eye on it....

    Also sometimes on start up check it can show oil can dripping but after a good run no oil check shows once warm.....so probably also a function of cold engine - i dunno - probably just waffling now...if it loses oil again will get it checked out.... 1 litre in 1100 miles not too bad is it ?

    PS...loving the car now - yes miss the 355 but 550 is just so much easier ..means i am using it more than the 355....tubi makes it perfect
