It's not Eric Claptons ex car, I have seen the car, needs a full restoration IMO

No, the Coy's car is ex Peter Noone. The Coys ad says that he, Peter Noone, wanted one in the same colour as Eric Clapton, Viola Dino Metallizzato, so he had his silver Dino repainted that colour.

Yes I realise Coys are selling the Noone car but doesn't that imply that Eric Clapton had a Viola Dino Metallizzato Dino?

    It implies exactly that.

It does but I think it is a misunderstanding. Clapton had a 365 GTC in that colour not, as far as I know, a Dino.

Chassis is 04510. The info re peter noone was given by the last owner who had owned the car for many years. It has not been fully restored, but is impressively solid. bought in by Coys from us.

The OP is asking the chassis number of the Viola Dino Metallizzato car that is said to have belonged to Eric Clapton in the Coys description. 04510 did not belong to Eric Clapton. Re read the Coys description. Are you the consigner?

No, the OP was searching for the chassis No. of the car for sale. This vehicle has nothing to do with Clapton. There was a vague suggestion that Noone fancied the Viola colour after seeing another.,possibly a Beatle(Starr or Harrison),so had it resprayed.

No, the OP was not searching for the chassis number of the car for sale which is not an ex Clapton Dino, but ex Peter Noone, as you know. He was searching for the chassis number of the Viola Dino Metallizzato car that was said to have been owned by Clapton in the description of the car for sale. The chassis number of the Peter Noone car, 04510, is already stated in the Coys description, to which he posted a link.

I think it is fair to say that we are running two different threads on this one, resulting in the missunderstanding refered to before. It seems unlikely that EC owned a Viola Met GT,so the mention is spurious.

Actually, the Coys description is ambiguous as it doesn't say that Clapton's car was a Dino. It could have been referring to the 365 GTC that Jonathan Tremlett refers to above that EC is known to have owned.

    From the description:

"Noone wanted to be in vogue and have the same colour Dino as Claptons car, having only been able to purchase a silver car; he immediately commissioned it to be repainted in the striking Viola Dino Metallizzato."

Please can you tell us the colours the car has been?
It might answer the question if it has been Viola Dino Metallizzato at some point.

...Eric's Dino 00152 was painted in Arancio tipo PF.

...I've been busy for the past few months, but thankfully getting back to normality now...

Restoration on my 4 Dino's are progressing well. The last 2 cars are currently undergoing final metalwork fettling & will be painted in the next 2-3 weeks. All four cars are going back to original factory colours & specifications.
