especially if they had their white sport socks on! ;-) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izaWlKxVo1A[/ame]
don't listen to them. I passed an NSX on our EAstlink freeway in my Toyota Taraga. Best he could do was 100kph. I passed him at 125kph
No worries Gil, they are just "jealous" that's all. Oh wait, that might be strike #3????? Never mind. I didn't say that moretti, you didn't see anything. My account was "hacked", I was "drunk", I'm low on sleep". Hahahahaaa!
Here is the view from Jones when I was there in 2005 Not going this year thanks to PAP knocking up his wife This is PAP's video from last years race We are in Brabham stand which is opposite Jones [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bo_rIWXqiUk[/ame] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'll go and change the bong water straight away. (the guy driving the NSX didn't seem to able to get it to go any faster than 100kph). AND they don't look that good anymore. Aged badly AND IT WAS RED
Great, blame the fat baby Pap's that aren't here yet why don't ya's!!! Have you been to an F1 Grand Prix before Ernie?
Agree with others here about getting seating around the 1st corner, theres always a bit of drama and action on that turn. Heres some pics I took when I was standing with the general riff raff overlooking that turn in 2009 when there was a big bust up with Barrichello colliding with Weber then sending a few cars into the sand pit of that corner during the first lap. EDIT: someone youtub'ed it aswell [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53YJ2-CMZfg[/ame] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hope to see you guys at the race. If you happen to see a guy walking around, probably during qualifying, with a 348 Brotherhood t-shirt on, it'll be me.
Haven't been to a F1 Grand Prix since '95 in Adelaide. I was a little kid but have great memories of it. My cousin and I keep talking about going to Melbourne to watch it but haven't got around to it. Next year may be the last chance we get in Australia given Bernie's comments and depending on what the government does. How early can you book tickets in advance and where are the good stands to sit in? Is it good to sit in different stands if going just on Friday to Sunday or just in the one stand?
Ernie has landed Down Under. On the SkyBus right now headed to the hotel. Let me know either on this thread, or via pm, if any of you would like to meet up, as this will pretty mch be my method of communicating while here.
Early to beat the crowds, and see a bit of Melborne before race weekend, and to HOPEFULLY MEET SOME OF YOU MANIACS??? The flight was long. 12.5 hours from LA to New Zealand, 1 hour layover and then 3.5 hours from Auckland to Melborne. Caught my second wind, so the wife and I are off to find a nice pub, or some place to get a bite to eat.
Had a nice couple of days. Yesterday went to the Melborne Aquarium, then to the casino and lost some money. Then today had a nice breafast and then took the train down to Dandenong to have a visit and a schooner with xtremeind. He has a very nice shop and is restoring a few 246s, as well as a Countach, a Bentley, and some other Aussie cars I can't remember the names of. Currently having a pint of Fat Yak at the Elephant and Wheelbarrow. That way I get a drink and free wi-fi.
Would have been an interesting trip on the train to end up in Dandenong!! If you're around the city tomorrow you will hear the 2-seater out on the track from 5-7pm Cheers Sean
And that is exactly how we got down there and back. The train we rode down on was an older one with NO A/C. But we did get a new one on the way back. Much better sitting inside a train with a/c when it's hot outside.
