That was the very first magazine I bought when I first discovered Ferrari. It was the summer before 8th grade for me. I still have it!

Things never change! A Lotus always was more bang for the buck than a Ferrari, and the Ferrari always evokes more passion to the general public. The Lotus heritage was always for the driver being the purpose of the car while the Ferrari has concessions for the passenger.

The author of the article was pretty remarkably spot-on in his prediction in the very last line of the article. It is, after all, 24 years later and I think most would agree that the Ferrari is the more desirable car of the two in present day.

I wonder if the guy is equally good with stocks... :)

Depriciation has always been the worst aspect of owning a Lotus; the prices fall out of bed quickly on new ones. Today a really great early 90's Esprit can be had for under $20k. There is no other exotic that even comes close price vs. bang wise.
