John that belongs to Erin Pierce, I sold him the car a few years ago and also did some service work to it. The remainder of the service was done by Lindsey Automotive. Wade www.fortuneomotors.com
First, Wade did not sell me the car. You have to own something before you can sell it, Wade. Wade found the car for me in Oregon. I flew to Oregon with a cashiers check to overpay for the car, then overpay for it to be shipped back, then overpayed to have the first major service done poorly-- THEN I brought the car to Lindsey automotive. Jim changed all of the leaking seals for me, and I have been bringing it to him ever since. The man is an artist. Second, I never sold the car before. I put it on the market about a year ago for a couple of days, then changed my mind. I have owned it for three years, and don't think anyone here coud claim it has been anything less than meticulously maintained by a professional--with the above exception. It just had another major service, and the airdam was resprayed. Finally, I am shocked that you guys would not tell this gentleman about my car on your own. I am selling it now because we just had our first child and I bought a home on the family compound. I felt it was time to move on. If some serious shopper wants to know more about my car, ask Jim Lindsey. Erin
Welcome back Erin. Hadn't seen you around in awhile- congrats on the your first born. I know how it can change things around in your life a lot. I vote your reply "Funniest Thread in the LA section" for the month of November. Strolling around my old pictures I did find two that I believe are your euro 308QV.
That is it. Thank you, Paul. I remember the day you took that picture. We had a great drive down Highway 40-- way up into Mississippi, I think. It was a great trip. Erin
I did not mean to imply that anything wa wrong with the car with this post. I was just surprised to see Erin had changed his mind and was selling the car. I know how much he enjoys the car. I had even toyed with the idea of purchasing the car before I bought my current 308. The car has been maintained with no expense spared since Erin purchased the car. I know he had some initial problems with the car after purchaseing it over 3 years ago, but those were minor and related to previous maint. not being done. Since those issues were sorted as far as I know it has just been routine maint. The car looks great and runs great and is a true Euro car. (the best to buy IMHO). Erin did just welcome a new addition to his family and I guess a 2 seater isn't practical anymore ( Mondial or 456 Erin ) For the price the car is a excellent buy and just had a major service a few months ago. I also remember the drive when the pics Paul posted were taken, I miss those drives when 4 or 5 of us would get together and have a morning adventure through the LA . countryside topped off by a nice dinner in Ponchatoula.
Hey John, Erin et al. Erin is right I did not own the car but as a broker, as I was then, any time money trades hands on any deal it is considered a sale. I sold an F50 one time, I certainly did not own that one. Anyway, I don't think you overpaid that is a matter of opinion , you did not have to buy it, but I am glad you did it turned out being a very nice car after you finished with it. About the service the "poor' job he states may have been that the mechanic that did the service for me at that time was not as experieinced as he should have been, no names. I spoke to Erin he said he recently serviced the car and I saw the car about 6 months ago. John for what Erin is asking for the car there is no reason you shouldn't buy it. It is very strong and very solid. He has driven it regularly over the past 3 years and that is what they need. Ask anyone who buys a low mile car that has been sitting for a while and they tend to have many unforseen problems, unless addressed can be a headache. Erin takes very good care of his car and I was happy I had been party to his ownership. Wade
It does sound like an excellent car, I even spoke with Jim linsey, before I spoke to Erin about it, and he vouched for the car as well. Unfortunantly (sp?) I need to pass on this car due to it being a euro, that the peoples republic of Texas may give me problems with. Erin seems like a honest guy, he was very upfront with me on the car. too sad I must pass. If anyone knows of a 308/328(under 40,000) please pass me the info. thanks, all see you at FFQC next year !!! John
John you will not have any problems with the Euro in Texas, I have bought quite a few out of Texas and have some quite a few into Texas. I help Brian Stradale get his Euro 360 he is in Dallas and he never had any problems. If you need help with it just let me know there are no tricks all honest and on the level. Wade
And thank you, Frank. You are right. We need to go for a drive. I would like for you to try the STi: it is a very fun--if not particularly pretty--car. I have yet to get a close look at your 348, too. Erin
