Hi all, sorry for all the questions lately- I've been making good progress getting my 85 308 QV euro back together. I should have it up and running in the coming weeks (fingers crossed) and I'm starting to think about CA smog (ugh). Car was previously 'federalized' and smogged in CA years ago.

I found this label in my trunk, but alas no computer - it was probably removed years ago along with a bunch of stereo equipment. Does anyone have any documentation or even a wiring diagram for these type of 3rd party emissions controllers? Anyone have an aftermarket emissions set up they want to sell?

I already have a separate cat exhaust to swap in for testing (with an O2 sensor) but that is about it. I would need the frequency valve, and the lambda computer, and of course some fuel system adjustments (and charcoal canister etc) but thought I'd start with the lambda computer since it seems the hardest to track down / fabricate.

    Thanks!

Nothing very specific, but two other brand names that might help you in your quest are: DC Johnson (sometimes DCJohnson) and Neutronics.

Did you look down where the Digiplex ECUs live?

PS Have you ever used that exhaust? One cat with no muffler = it should be fairly loud ;).

Thank you very much Steve! The car has not run under my ownership and I have a normal non-cat ANSA muffler installed (OEM I believe). I think previous owners swapped in the cat setup for smog testing, then swapped it out after the test... I have the digiplex units out right now and took the carpet out of the trunk too but didn't find the lambda computer unfortunately (just the label). The car was in TX when I bought it, so it's likely that equipment was removed.

Hi again, I wanted to follow up and say that I've been in touch with DC Johnson and Vernon has been incredibly helpful. I received the "Guide to EPA Federalization" on CD and it's about 95 pages of technical information, wiring diagrams, instructions for installation / calibration etc. very comprehensive and well worth the money in my opinion.

Vernon indicated he isn't getting many requests for information / service on the FAC (Fuel Control Unit) "Johnson Boxes" these days so I encourage anyone looking into these systems to get in touch with Vernon to keep this resource going. My understanding is that Vernon can rebuild/recalibrate old FAC boxes. His contact info is below.
