Hi - A friend liked my 360 so much he's decided to buy one. He has an eye on a European spec car that says it's been federalized and everything, but he's worried about California getting in a bind about it. Has anyone here registered a European spec 360 in California?

    Thanks!

The socialist republic of Ca is terrible when it comes to cars. It's almost impossible to smog a USA 360. With 99 being the hardest due to no pre-cat (although mine passes). Depending on the year of the car- this will be a big factor as well. It's probably just easier to buy a Ca 360.

    Agree....
When I was looking I did find a 2000 that already had been certified for CA., had the stickers
That it had been certified, so that part was good, passed on the car due to other reasons.
If it has been certified in CA and is a 2000 above, good to go.
The 99 are hard to pass smog. Event certified and legal, according to some that have gone through that.

I wrote a detailed thread on this. I think it was 'registering a euro in CA' or something very close to that.

Zcobra talks about the BAR sticker. If you don't have one it is a 49 state car and you have to do the testing. If it has a BAR sticker you are good to go.

Thanks everyone - He decided to pass on this particular car for a variety of reasons but this was also a big factor. =)
