I noticed on the Ricambe America website they have an air filter for the 458 that is marked as Euro/non-USA. What is the difference?

The US one deals with hot air better? ;)

I received an answer back from Ricambi's Daniel Pass:

The USA filter has an additional foam filtering and noise dampening layer on the filter body. In theory, the ignition system of a USA car is modified for this difference in intake airflow, but I do not have specific details on how this actually translates into vehicle performance, or would be impacted/improved by using the 'wromg' filter.

I noticed the one in my Spyder had the foam-like stuff on the bottom. I had ordered a new one and it didn't. I think I saw somewhere that the Euro filter is louder/more engine noise.

Order EU, no brainer. More airflow and the ECUs will correct it, and slightly noisier that is always more fun to drive

Changed it out. No discernible difference in noise, unfortunately.
