Hi I bring my F612 with me from Europe. I would like to know if someone can explain what kind of technical modification I have to do to get a Title for my 612 (with the F1a gearbox) the year is 2004 in Europe and 2005 in the US Thanks
you should not do it. it will need to be changed to conform to DOT and EPA certification, and that will cost you 20k or more. add the duty and the shipping and handling, and the bill will come to more than $30k. why bother.
I believe you can bring it in for a year (maybe two?) on your existing European registration, and use it here. Assuming you are a citizen of the country where it's registered, etc.... Google is your friend. If you mean you want to DOT/EPA it, I wouldn't bother.
You can bring it to the US for up to one year without modification or import duties, but it must be re-exported and cannot be sold if it does not meet US safety and emission specs. You cannot be a US Resident. I'm considering bringing my 599 as I am a US Citizen, but not a resident of the US. Free Entry •U.S. citizens employed abroad or government employees returning on TDY or voluntary leave may import a foreign-made car free of duty provided they enter the U.S. for a short visit, claim nonresident status, and export the vehicle when they leave.
