Yes, Porsche has been investing heavily in synthetic fuels. If these can be produced in sufficient quantity and distributed globally, it’s a possible option. Depends on the cost.

Germany can’t afford to lose the premium car market.

This happened about 4 years before I expected. I figured by 2027 they would change the mandate. I expect to do this properly they will change the filler neck to only allow a special pump with e-fuel so you can’t cheat or to ban fossil based gasoline sales completely and only allow efuel for all ICE cars.
