    Dear Comrades,

I am intrigued to know how those living within the English colony of The United States of America will perceive the European F-40 when it becomes available to them in circa three years hence. Will they wish for a genuine English F-40 or will the Euro F-40 be sufficient?
For example the documentation of the English F-40's supplied to Marenello Concessionaires of Egham in Surrey had beautiful caligraphic copper plate script on the documentation. Furthermore, the shipping documentation including the original invoice from Ferrari SpA to Maranello is also included.

All contributions to this thread will be graciously and courteously received.

    With kind regards,

    512 Tea Are

Pretty sure they'll be smog exempt when the time comes. How 'bout DOT? Will they require US fuel tanks and so forth?

As far as I know, there was no "English" spec F40. It was just a Euro spec with a few minor changes.

Graham I have found the cars in England to have been maintained to an exceptionally high standard compared to the ones in Europe. Have you found this to be true? Accordingly, I will be adding a UK F40 to my Scuderia Povero so that I may have transportation when in England. I will keep you posted on this.

    Dear Comrade Joe Sackey,

Yes, you really must acquire an English F-40 for they are indeed all so beautifully maintained. I am thinking that you have acquired the 800 smile wonder car. If this is the case I do believe that this is a superb machine. I know of a multi-concours winning example that may be acquired for a similarly low price - at least, in a few years it will seem ludicrously inexpensive.

My wife sent you an e-mail regarding your amazing dogs. We are also dog lovers and English Rose Garden lovers too. I will inform you about the English F40 that will be joining my dispersed Scuderia Povero ('Povero' ranslated means 'Poor' of course). Scuderia Povero has a coat-of-arms emblazoned at the bottom with a scroll that displays my motto: "A day late and a dollar short". Yep, that sums us up accurately. I shall remove the Ferrari logos on the front fenders of the car and replace them with the Scuderia Povero shield. I will not be the first owner to do this as you know Nick Mason has already mounted BRDC shields of his own choice :)

    Dear Comrade Joe Sackey,

Yes, I responded to Mrs Sackey's communique last night.

The new car sounds very interesting. I may acquire another as I am not going to be usurped by the American contingent in our far-flung English colony of The United States of America.

    Dear Gentleman Comrade Joe Sackey,

Indeed yes, this is very much the case. However, I note that you are not to be drawn with regard to the English F-40 and therefore the whole community will be left wondering resulting in many sleepless nights.

    With kind regards,
