Is it possible in NC to put a "period correct" Euro license plate on your car and register that plate with the DMV? I reached out to the NC DMV--that was a complete waste of time. I thought you could do this in SC and I know folks in other states that have vintage / collector cars who have period correct license plates on their cars (all they have to do is keep the state issued license plate in the glove box). Anyone have any experience in NC with this?

My google search says you can't use it. If so or if easy, we'd see a lot of these don't you think?

I know in NC you can use old tag as long as the correct one is in car. As far as a euro tag not sure.

I've seen a handful of European plates on exotics. Pretty sure it isn't technically legal, but probably not going to be aggressively enforced especially if you keep your proper NC plate in the car as well.

Nope. But, you can put the "euro plate" on the front, as you can in SC.
