There is a Euro 1986 328 on ebay (item # 28844531668) with bidding up to 27k that has already met reserve. Car looks in nice shape but there is very little info on the car so it could be a wreck. My questions are.....Does anyone know this car and should we stay away from Euro models? Every time I see a very inexpensive car on Ebay with little information the last thing that pops up in my mind is bargain. Instead I think that someone has something to hide.

I wouldn't pay a premium for a euro car- even though in a number of ways it is a better car then the US issue. Only because there is a preception that Euro cars are harder to get parts for or dealers won't work on them.
But for a 328 this isn't an issue- i've gotten all the parts I need readily from Ferrari UK & I imagine a dealer no longer cares since it is out of warranty.

    Comments on that car:

31K and doesn't mention a belt service. $$ or get out your own tools.

AC is different on a euro car- different compressor. Replacing my compressor only showed that the hoses were bad. These hoses run all the way to the front of the car. So when someone says it "only needs a charge" I'm pretty sceptical. It needs a charge because it leaks and the leak needs to be repaired.

Call Dick Merritt at the DOT with the VIN. Check that the car is OK to be in the states.

A euro 328 has smaller bumpers then the US- in particular the rear bumper has no vent cut out. So if the car still have cats on it I would wonder how hot it gets under there.

Euro cars have hotter cams and a bit shorter gearing- runs better then a US car.

Do a search on fchat - there are a number of Euro vs. US car topics.
