    Congrats again you rascal!

While heresy I'll still take a 308 converted to EV using my Ford Lightning power and drivetrain ;-)

My daily driver ford lightning is “fast as fluff”! ;-)

I think you should buy a Tesla Plaid and put the 575 on top of that chassis.

Wonder how I'll fit the capristo on!

I will have to bow out on that 612 my wife will kill me if I end up with 3 new cars in 1 month
Do you mean the 612 needs work or the 575M?

The 612. Here in NorCal at my mechanic I bet $30k to get that 612 where I’d want it on catch up and belts.

Thank you everyone for the kind wishes, once I receive the car lets see what kinda work it will need

    Slow and steady progress

    The tires came dated 2015

Car runs well, I warmed it up and then pushed it on the high way and it responded well. Everything seems to be in excellent condition, I’m surprised this is a 20 year old car.

I noticed only two issues, one with the leather trim behind the driver, and one with the tuning knob on the radio

    That is gorgeous!

Now, considering my assembly number is relatively low, it seems like I cannot do any HGTC components.

I'm going to get all the fluids (differential, transmission, power steering, brake, coolant, engine oil) changed, I think timing belt will be recommended too, spark plugs, all filters

    Any other ideas?

You can do springs, rear anti-roll bar (MSW), and a better shock ECU. Trevor can even make your Motronic ECUs compatible with the HGTC TCU or make your TCU HGTC equivalent. My pre-52556 575M has an HGTC TCU after Motronic massaging by Trev.

My first choice would be the Maranello Skunkworks rear bar and then an MSW steering ECU. Might not need the springs.

Oh! Hm, I thought the age of my assembly number meant I couldn't do those mods! I'm trying to fine the maranello skunkworks site, is that a PM/DM thing only?

Going back to the title of this thread, you're not thinking of converting this car to an EV are you?

I'm also on the fence of doing ANY mods which arent 100% reverseable (unless its repair related or disaster-avoidance related - like coolant pipes)

The OEM radio dials were shared with Porsche and available new online for <$25 without the sticky

The most important first things to do with a 575 are just the usual catchup maintenance.

Usual things you want to do beyond the usual belts/check status of:
    • Engine mounts
    • Clutch level
    • F1 Pump Relay
I would also personally replace the taillight bumps are there is a weird goofy electrical fault where if one of the taillights burns out, it will cause the F1 trany to stop working.

As for upgrades, the key ones listed are FHP conversion and the shock ECU upgrade. As far as exhaust goes, it all depends on how much you want to spend....

Nothing prevents you from modding an early (pre-AN 52556) 575M. Probably best to leave her alone until you see how you like her. If you decide you want to improve something, we can tell you how to do it. Everything is reversible if you save the old parts.

I still have my FHP brakes in the garage, but only an idiot would want them back on her now.

I have these on both my 456 and 575M to replace the taillight bulbs. The light output, design, quality, are all second to none. They actually work as you would expect now with the center white part used for reverse and for the turn signal and the outer rings for the parking lights and brakes. Plus no more worry about the stupid taillight-F1 fault mentioned above. The cars also now both have the 3 flashes then stop thing if you just tap the turn signal like modern cars. I didn't ask for that last feature, it just was a surprise perk.

I agree with above that with a rear bar and ECU upgrade you likely dont need springs. Not to mention FHP springs have become borderline NLA/$$$$$. I also agree TREV's tune is magical and made me love the car and the F1 system.
