Yes, Elysée obstinately carries on in spite of all opposition and we would love to have you join forces with us this evening. If it is pleasant, we are outside. If it rains, we are inside. If there is chaos, sauve qui peut!

Tonight we convene at the Novel Cafe (across from the Elysée) to mourn the loss of one of our members. She came into our midst, 'friended' EW members and FB friends alike and promptly went off to promote her own weekly salon to which I have not been invited. We wish her the very best and hope that she succeeds though we mourn her absence.

The ususal band of miscreants are expected, however.

Elysée Wednesday makes its way back to the Novel Cafe in Westwood Village this week where, if we know what's good for us, we'll behave for once. Doubtful, but hope springs eternal, I suppose.

    On the positive side...

This week, Elysée Wednesday gathers once again at the Little Next Door. We will be in the outer area where we can move about, change partners and, generally, disrupt the well-being of the establishment as we are known to do.

Though we have been kicked back into better places than this, we caution members against robbing other patrons or taking hostages without prior consent.

Wednesday, May 5 from 7:30 pm at Little Next Door, 8164 West 3rd Street Los Angeles, CA 90048-4309, www.thelittledoor.com

    Elysée Wednesday last night...

Having made reservations for about 15 people on the terasse, I arrived at the Little Next Door to find that our reservation had been ignored. They had one four-top in the back of the restaurant, which was, in no way, going to accommodate our group. As nice as the manager was, he had no explanation for or solution to the problem. We left in search of another cafe and gave the manager our cell phone asking that he give it to anyone who arrived looking for our group. He agreed, but failed to do so as Chad and Gérard arrived subsequently and they were given no information about how to find us though they had inquired. Others may also have been given the same treatment. It is just my guess that the Little Next Door has seen the last of Elysée Wednesday.

We ended up down the street at Toast moving on to MI6, where we decided to decline their hospitality, and then to Caffe Primo where we enjoyed wine outside on their terasse until they closed. We then moved across the street to Ben Franks--now known as Mel's--until about two in the morning.

We offer our apologies for the inconvenience to all who attempted to join us but failed to find us. It is our hope that our weekly patronage would be more highly valued and that the venue we choose functions professionally. My view is that when we show up in numbers with money, our job is done.

I hope you all liked Caffe Primo. I have been there quite a bit and really like their food selections.
The place is easy, self serve, great location on Sunset, validated parking in their underground. Same people operate Borracho Cantina next door.
I am an investor there, so a little self promotion here.
