I am still in florida for one more week but saw the devastation in the eastern half of NC - everyone OK? John E
+1 I was at a wedding in morehead city his weekend and the weather there was pretty bad. Its really scary when you have wind, lightning, and every other part of a massive storm... Except the rain. Driving home today we went through a few citys that were hit. Hope everyone made it ok. Was scary enough by us. Can't imagine what it's like actually getting hit by one.
The FCA party at Dr. Jon's was amazing. Our drive into the Triangle was harrowing --- horrible rain, wind, etc. But by 5:30pm, the sun was shining, the band was playing, and the beverages were refreshing. Most of us drove our 'disposable' cars, because of the weather. The event was, quite candidly, one hell of an amazing party and I think everyone stumbled home quite happily.
I drove my Ferrari to the party but wasn't able to drive it home... Thanks John for getting me a ride! The party was AMAZING and we didn't encounter any bad weather from Greensboro to Durham. I drove over with a Yellow F430 Coupe and a Yellow Lambo Gallardo... What a great time!
Something must have blown up near Cary during the storms, there are chunks of insulation all over town. Thankfully it all blew out of the area before Dr. John's party. What a time!
we had big pieces of insulation (and one record album) in our neighborhood. Our dog's car (a Camry) parked in the driveway took a giant limb to the roof so we were unable to make the party. House, wife and dog OK.
We didn't have any damage at home but we had a 400,000 sq. ft. building in Clinton get pretty much totaled. That's quite a feat.
