Evo test of Audi R8

Has anyone read this months issue of Evo magazine.
They test the audi r8 against the porsche `997 carrera,bmw m6 and aston marting v8 vantage.
They also test it around their track and Audi lapped faster than koenigsegg and about a second behind the Enzo,wow
I could only imagine what the R8 would be with the V10 that is on the way.
Even though this car is not that fast in a straight line,it seems to be a godess around a track.

 

Its strange because C&D found it very average in their track test at VIR. Not to say which magazine is better but apparently magazines are not the be all end all.

 

I am going to have to stop by a Borders to check it out because the test at VIR showed that it wasn't anything too special on the track. Lapping faster than the koenigsegg would be quite the accomplishment for a car with only 420HP. Part of me is really glad that the car is so fast, that way I won't have to stare at it for too long, I can't stand how it looks.

 

Have you seen one in person? I went the other way being a skeptic to believing in the car once I saw it for myself. The roofline is slightly bubbled compared to the Gallardo, but the rear and nose look better than the Gallardo IMO.

 

yeah suprisingly EVO loved it - far more than any of the other cars in the test M6, 911 4s, prodrive AM vantage. With the exception of the M6 they also said it was the most comfortable and overall had the nicest interior.

Price wise however - I really see the 911 Turbo or Gt3 being its only peer- and tracking against those guys is gonna be a different story

I've seen them in person- like 40 of them at the Ritz in Vegas and didn't love it. However if I had the money - at that price point- I would take it over anything else
