Hey guys - I've got another round of photos to post. Some names from the past for sure were at Fiorano last weekend. Niki Lauda drove his F1 car on Saturday; Ivan Capelli drove the Alfa P3; Gerhardt Berger drove the wonderful 500; Jody Scheckter drove his championship F1 car; Eddie Irvine drove the FXX; Jean Alesi drove the F1-90; Rene Arnoux in the 126 C4; Felipe drove Lauda's car on Sunday; Andrea de Adamich drove the 166 F2 -> this was the same car he drove 40 years ago - the first time in 40 years he's been in it, the commentator said they had to "shoe-horn" him in the car - fantastic!; Nino Vacarella in the Auto Avio Construzioni 815. Definitely a step back in time. Piero Ferrari also drove the 125 S in honor of his dad - it was the 1st ever car built at Ferrari in 1947.

There's photos of the cars on the track; cars in the F1 area; drivers present for the award presentation (my, my how Eddie has changed!). Also one of Roger Penske by Enzo's house.

I have more photos to load but I must go into town and meet John for mexican food - more later.

    Enjoy.

Classe 9 - Le Serie Speciali - The Supercars

Third in class - 1986 Ferrari GTO Evoluzione. In 1985-1986, 6 were made. It was rated at 650 hp at 7800 rpm, with a speed of 230 mph. Congratulations Rik on your placing with an absolutely magnificant car. Enjoyed the visit and hope to see you on this side of the pond in the fall with your other car.

The photos following the Evoluzione is another special car built by Ferrari. This is the first Ferrari with a V12 boxer engine - made it's race debut at the end of the 1964 season. This is one of only three ever built. It came in fourth at the Italian GP in 1965 driven by Lorenzo Bandini.

The Ferrari F2001 is the car MS won the World Championship; 50th F1 victory at Spa; raced in the Italian GP with the nose painted black for the Twin Towers tragedy (how many of you remember watching that race? it certainly doesn't seem that long ago!). Car is privately owned and driven. Beautiful.

    Enjoy.

Where did you find a Mexican restaurant, and was it any good?

Hi Ron - thanks for the comments and looking at the photos. Mexican restaurant is about 11 miles into town from where we live - I often meet John there on his way home from work - yes, good food. Did find a great pizza restaurant in Maranello - it seems that we couldn't get reservations at La Noche as they were booked; Il Cavallino was totally reserved on Friday night; had reservations for Montanta on Saturday. Pizza place in just a few doors down from Warm-Up and next to Hors Linge (sp). Pizza and beer . . yummy dinner.

    You're welcome . .
