IS anyone here familiar with the Tyson F50, currently in Atlanta? MIke Sheehan has it consigned and is asking $749k for it. It sounds completely up to date with servicing and has about 5,000 miles.
The F40 which appears to be from the same collection also looks excellent. Hmmmmm....let's do the math.... 550 + the $ set aside for the Challenge Stradale + the Porsche + $50K = F40
Once you drink the F40 Kool-aid you're done for. Go for it Roy. You'll never regret it - and you can get a CS next year!
I was showing this very car (my favorite of all modern f-cars) to my wife tonight... She was like you should get that - that is awesome... (she is a car nut as well). She asked what Sheehan was asking for it - when I told her - she said get a CGT instead in a year when the price levels out - and I could have my Gallardo Spider plus another vintage F-car to play along with. Isn't this about 100K higher than some recent sales of f50's?
Euro F50's that have been converted to US standards seem to go for 75-85K less than US cars, I suppose that would be the route to go, enless you strictly want a US car. Wasn't Tyson's F50 getting gold plated or something rediculous like that? Mr. Papas, are you considering an F50?
Rumor mill I heard had it that Tyson's F50 had been crunched in the front and had significant damage replacement done by one of the authorized dealers in Cali - never saw the car in person so I stress, this is just rumor mill, but it did come up when we had Lauren's old car for sale; there were a few enthusiasts who came in and wanted to discuss all 3 yellow US cars; Tyson's was usually referred to as the 'whacked one'...just fyi
I heard an outrageous story today, he sold his McLaren for 500,000. He bought it and never titled it because its not street legal in california. It was tied up in a lawsuit for 11 years and was looking to sell it. He asked a person how much he could get for it...the guy said 500,000. And the first guy to offer that got it. It was at Crystal Cove, it sold within 30 minutes...
But it looks like tysons f50 is red http://www.ferraris-online.com/pages/carintro.php?reqcardir=FE-F50-104220
Way over priced IMHO......Even for an F50...... 750 kms example for sale in Europe for less than $525k !!! Personally wouldn't want anything to do with a convicted rapists vehicle anyway. Seb
Yes - I'm quite certain that Tyson never owned a McLaren F1. I do believe that he wanted one at some point, and there is a story that claims he may have tried to buy the car in the Park Lane showroom in London before McLaren was willing to sell it. In fact the Sun reported he even got a test drive, but that seems unlikely unless a car from the factory was used. To my knowledge, there have only ever been two F1s at Crystal Cove. Both went home with the person who brought them there - neither of which was Iron Mike. Funny story though... >8^) ER
Mike Sheehan, who is out of so. cal, but he does consign from all over. He runs his business online, interesting cars he has sold...
