Isnt he the dude that raced for Lotus back in the '80's?

 

Nigel Mansell ? Yes , he also won the champ title in 92 with Williams.

 

I'll post it here too. According to Franco Gozzi, Nigel sold the car the day after Ferrari gave it to him for twice its market price. Is the car worth the premium if he only had it for 24 hours?

 

while F 40 listed for some 300,000; many were sold for almost 1 million dollars. The cars traded hands very quickly and lots of dollars were made and then lost. I was approached by a group who were willing to pay 1 million for one as an investment. Thank God i said no. So the fact that he sold it for twice the list price is not necesssarily because of his name.

 

Ahhh, Nigel. His greedy flipping of his gifted F40 for profit was one of the reasons why people had to qualify and lease the F50 when it became available.

Yes but he didnt pay for it. Ferrari gave it to him. I remember him trying to cancel his sale when he learnt the guy who bought it from him was also flipping it for more...

 

He also raced for Ferrari in 1990 with Alain Prost!

Nigel Mansell driving an F40 back then was the equivalent of Michael Schumacher driving an Enzo now.

wow i didnt even check that, yeah qv500 looked a lot different then i remembered too, what happened to the site
