I think what happens is that the UK price looks attractive when a simple currency conversion is done, and your callers "possibly" hadn't researched aussie taxation for imported cars...which is stupidly high.

This particular car started life in Aus and is "probably" taxes paid, but I'm not sure yet, in which case it's price is attractive with current 512 TR prices around $200k, and this one is around $100k if taxes are paid... but it is high mileage, although that is actually a good thing in my opinion.

It's not listed amongst the 512TR's in the clubs register list. There were not many 512TR's brought in here, so get them to give you the first owners name and it will be easy to track down if it was an Australian car.

Turns out the Car in question was owned personally by Dennis Oneil of Maranello Imports '92.

While here it had a light scuff needing minor repairs to front bumper and front guard.

Car did 10000km here (Sydney) then went to UK. Now done loads of motorway mainly miles, and in really nice conditon with good history, "Bell" sports exhaust, recent valve clearance and belt service, all new tyres etc etc.

Crazy to leave it there if all taxes are paid......

If anyone in Oz I don't know ends up buying it... contact me and I'll share a 40ft container with you... My BB is in the same showroom and they can come together.

I'm not saying this IS the case, but...Qld FCA has a newish member, English gentleman who had to return his F40 to blighty when he couldn't drive it enough here and did mention an 512TR at the club run last week.
P.S. Would be very nice addition to our runs!
