Exact Countach and Diablo dimensions

Hi all,

I have been parking my Countach in the 1 car garage here, and I have about 2cm spare each side of the wing mirrors as I drive in - so clearly the rear wheel arches are about the same width or slightly narrower.

On most sites I can find, the width of a Countach is listed at 200cm at the wheel arches. The width of a Diablo is listed at 204, but I don't know where and I do not have my car at home to measure it.

The issue I am trying to work out is if the Diablo will even go in the same garage (if the wing mirrors are any more than about 2cm wider it will not fit at all). I believe the door is a standard single garage 8 foot door - anyone know my chances of getting it in without having a heart attack every time?

Thanks Emilio - that's what I feared. Living alone I don't have someone who can act as spotter for me so makes me very nervous to try to get it in that garage.

 

Indeed - if they got it in that door with the mirrors attached they seem to be part of that width, as I am pretty sure they do not move (don't have mine here to check). But that image, if that's the same standard width garage door I have, means it's way too close for my comfort to be able to park on my own.

 

I need to develop some miniature VASI or PAPI lights for cars - vertical not horizontal, so they indicate that I am on the right "straight in approach" to get in the garage.

If only it were that easy. Seems garage doors come in standard sizes, so opening up the opening just leaves gaps either side unless you get custom doors, and requires a lot of work. On a house that's only 3 months old.

Currently the Diablo will fit beside the M3 with a 3 point turn to get it in the 2 car garage, and the Countach fits in the 1 car garage. Annoyance comes when I have to put a 4 post lift in the 1 car garage to get the Ferrari under the Countach, and that's my favorite car to drive.

Cheaper to get something like www.garagesoftexas.com instead.

 

Thanks for that - mine is 93 1/4" wide so it should fit, it's just tight - but not much tighter than the Countach which I feel has about 2" each side also, and I manage to judge that ok each time. I presume the width at the mirrors didn't change from 99 to 01, just the front fenders got wider.
