Exact Model of my color choices?

    I think I was told by my sales person when I ordered that at about 6 weeks before I pick up the car at the dealer, they would give me a model of my car. A replica die cast that I think they had made for me. My sales guy left and here I am only 3 weeks away and no one has said anything too me.

    Is this real? Anyone else get one?

    Yes, I got it after I picked up my car. Has your name on it as well.

    Yes I got mine about 5 weeks before delivery (i think my delivery got slightly delayed). My sales guy said that they try to make sure the customer gets the model first, but inevitably sometimes they come in the wrong order. I'd suggest you ask whoever your replacement guy is to check on status. Who are you working with - Tom M.?

    Aha I now see you're expecting in 3 weeks - just in time for Fathers Day! Nice!

    I am picking mine up on the 20th and still no model....

    To be honest I am so excited about the car that I don't really think about the model much at the moment ;-)

    Mine came at the same time as the car (although it was originally reported to preceed the car's arrival). It is a really nice touch.

    When your dealer submitted your info to Ferrari, you should have begun receiving the official magazine, published three times a year with a yearbook (fourth issue) published around December. I think I recall that issue number 10 had a nice article about the production of these replicas. If you are not receiving the magazine already, ask your dealer.

    And...congrats on the car (the full size one, of course!) Enjoy.

    This is a new car thing only? Or does this vary by dealer...?

    My understanding is that it is a new car thing only.

    However, if you are really interested, you might want to try to contact the model manufacturer. They may make one custom to order. Will probably be a pricey proposition though....

    I got the magazine but don't remember the model replica article. I will look again.

    Thanks everyone. Now I know it is something I should have gotten. Besides the magazine and the model, anything else? I got a book on the California when I put down my deposit and a limited edition pininfarina design sketch of the California.

    You will (or should) get a soft cloth car cover and a battery tender contained in a red zippered duffel in the trunk. Along with the owner's manual, nav guide, etc, you should get a small silver flashlight.

    ....and...I have to admit I am a little jealous. I didn't get the Pinninfarina design sketch. Did anyone else?

    I got the Cali sketch. Not at the lauch party but at one of the dealer events, I think.
    I also got the sketch of the Maser GranTurismo and the Italia 458.

    I am sure your dealer can dig something up for you.

    Thanks for the info Malibu Guy. I got the GT sketch, but not the Cali. I will be calling my dealer.

    By the way, Cavalier, please post pics once you take delivery.
