    Hello, Ferraristi.

What information does the Hilary A. Raab Odd Number Sequence book have?

By serial number it lists customer or dealer, model, country and what else?

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

These are the 10 categories of information. They are not necessarily complete for all cars. For example, there are fewer cars with an internal engine number listed than without.

    1. Serial number of car
    2. Series of car
    3. Model of car and other details (A/C, other options)
    4. Name of first owner or dealer (along with country)
    5. Assembly sequence number and body number of coachbuilder
    6. Chassis type number
    7. Engine type number
    8. If car was right hand drive
    9. Coachbuilder of the body
    10. Original internal engine number

I don't know but you apparently beat me by a few seconds.

By the way, it says 3:02 PM for me, so I beat you by three hours!:p

His info as others stated is not always correct. For my car (67 330 GT2+2), the name of the original owner is incorrect.

As well, I'm suspecting that the same might be true for the listing on my car. See my thread here.

I think it should be underlined that the names Raab lists were destinations or intended customers (at the time car was being built). When customers backed out (quite common behavior in those days too!) or an important customer/dealer needed a car ASAP, things seem from time to time have been straightened out by reallocating a few cars.

Therefore the names are not incorrect, they are also part of a car's history!

    Best wishes, Kare

Though some might feel they got the "last copy at Amazon", the current version of book is a print on demand item (sort of like a xerox/computer print out), and as such always available. Every copy will be the "last copy" at Amazon until they print another "last copy" up. Best, Yale

    Kare,

Excellent point! Indeed what you said is entirely plausable, as my car went to Royalty and the name in Raab's book for my SN probably got bumped and had to wait longer.

This is the way Veloce press operates, see http://www.velocepress.com/books/italian.php. If Amazon gets their copy printed by Veloce Press, you might as well order your copy directly there.

Besides what is in the book, I can add that Pinin Farina started construction on 6.5.60. The other date mentioned (30.7.60) probably being when work was completed and the car sent back to Ferrari for final assembly.

    Best wishes, Kare

GTO and Wayne, Thanks for the info. - Only 5 owners in 45 years is not very many especially considering how many cars were flipped multiple times in the 80's.

Wow! Greg got a lot of info on his car in just this thread.

Is there any info on my car (7919) available? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Art S.
