Anybody have any experience with these?
I like the series 2 but those are hard to find and a series 3 is fine for me, Probably a 79 just because of a particular cars condition. Are some years preferable to others. What to look out for?
We had a 1975 with a 454 engine.... heavy car.... it was ok...not really my style... but they do get looks
For some reason wanted one since I was a kid. Looks like an 20s gangster car with the top on and and it's like a developed hot rod. But I guess a 70s smogged 454 has less hp than a modern econocar
There was a iteration of the Excalibur which looked like a pimpmobile. I could see you with a few diamond rings, big gaudy watch and diamond earings driving one of these. ;-)
That was the later ones, a series 4. Always liked the pimpmobile in the bond movie live and let die. But that was some sort of eldorado with side pipes and shag carpeting. The series 1-3 were brooke stevens designs. They were like an american morgan. Interesting they get no repsect.
Yeah, I know the one you like. This is the image which always pops into my mind. Scary. Image Unavailable, Please Login And this is the Magnum Force classic.
Im thinking this gangsta car https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d2/1976_Excalibur_Phaeton_Series_III_%2814930126749%29.jpg/1280px-1976_Excalibur_Phaeton_Series_III_%2814930126749%29.jpg
Some good information here, Matt Garrett collection out of Texas. He has some dynamite cars Caddi, Benz, BMW and a seriesIII Excalibur. He also had a Series 4 which he has since sold. Enjoy http://www.mcsmk8.com/79-EXCAL/79-EXCALIBUR.html
Way back "in the day," I worked on one. Some of the engineering is... interesting. Still, they were pretty simple, so getting it repaired shouldn't be a problem.
