I was presented with a question today. Can I set up a formula in an excel spreadsheet that will rotate one column of data in coordination with two others?

Here are the basics. I have one column of names. These names need to go on a (fairly) regular rotation, meeting the names in column three. Column two is pretty much a red-herring and I will try to convince him to eliminate it. It's only the supervisor of the people in column one.

Attached is a quick example. There will be about 30 names in column one but only about 5 in column three. Each name in column one needs to have met once before starting the list over.

Just to complicate things a bit more, it would be best if the names in column three didn't have to meet in consecutive weeks. This meeting is for one day, once a week. Only one meeting per week.

Somehow I don't think I'm explaining this very well. I'll post this and see if it makes any sense to anyone. Basically, one name in column one needs to meet with one name in column three once a week. Each week both names should change without repeating two in a row.

Sounds like a school project but stuff like that pops in the "real" world ;-)
kinda hard to follow your actuall requirements you know it but but not clear enough on your write up if need a Q&D way around it I'd say plug and write a little XLA add-in and good you are sounds like a simple loop

If u do need a formula will have to understand your requirements which were not clear enough(at least to me) on your description

    Cheers
