    That is amazing. Looks apples to apples.

    But camera angle and lenses can make a difference in perceived speed.

    Wasn't there a Ferrari video where several drivers, among them Schumi, started in road Ferraris and a F1 car in Imola at the same time, and the road cars only arrived AGES after the F1?

    It was actually a fiat (of some sort), then a 550 maranello and then Schumacher leaving after about a minute...and they all finish at the same time.

    The above video just really puts it in perspective IMO, more than the ''car leaves at time x, F1 leaves X time after and finish at same time). You can literally see the speed the F1 car carries compared to the others. It's not even funny anymore.

    Niki Lauda did a video like that at Silverstone during his McLaren days. It was a handicap start, with the other car long gone before Lauda took off in the McLaren, and he always caught the other car (one a Porsche 928) right at the line.

    That was a great video - a Ford Sierra, the 928, and the McLaren. Niki is sitting on the side pod having tea as first the Sierra then the 928 leave. The drivers of the road cars had them on the ragged edge yet they were caught as if standing still :D

    James Hunt and John Watson

    in the same video they use 2 928's to explain overtaking and drafting, the 928 was not exactly standing still

    However, being pedantic, their speed isn't so much down to their power (although the power to weight ratio is pretty impressive) but rather the monster downforce they're generating at these speeds.
