Anyone has suggestion of where is a good place to live in Houston, preferrably somewhere exclusive with privacy. ?

Doesn't have to be close to downtown?

Try the area just north of the Galleria. I had a girlfriend down there once on Tangle Lane. I think President Bush lives around that area as well.

Almost any of the villages west of the 610 Loop along Memorial Drive,

Bellaire south of 610 Loop off Kirby,

    around Rice University,

    River Oaks

There's is a brand new neighborhood up in the Woodlands called Carlton Woods, suppose to be the most exclusive in that area. I heard there's a house underconstruction in that neighborhood that is around 13 million. (Too much in the Woodlands IMO)

If you don't want a big yard but in a nice area inside loop, check out Arlington Court on Memorial. Also houses on Crestwood south of Memorial, lots of privacy there.

Bunker Hill area / Tanglewood has lots of privacy. River Oaks is exclusive, but some traffic thru the neighborhood (ppl taking shortcuts).

If you don't mind tons of traffic and want/need to be near downtown or looking for good nightlife I would say River Oaks or West University. Bellaire is decent, but is smack dab next door to the barrio. I would prefer the Woodlands. Carlton Woods would be a plus cause it's gated and there's no riff raff for a long ways. But if you want good night life, you're going to be finding yourself driving downtown.

    My Vote: Woodlands

I agree Carlton Woods in the most exclusive www.carltonwoods.com

The $13mil home is huge, I was just in it yesterday:cool: Nothing to the design just a HUGE grossly overpriced house....A word of caution:if you do look in Carlton Woods don't believe the BS that all the houses sell for full asking...The sell right at 87%, all the sales guys are jerk offs that are only there to sell overpriced dirt, don't know the first thing about real estate or selling it.

Are you a golfer? If so then Carlton Woods is the place for you, nice homes are available for $2mil and up, some $1 mil and up but are really only worth about half that.

How big is the $13 million home? Who is the lucky owner of that?
