Exclusive clubs... UK people "get it"

    I've recently started a kind of "club" where parties are thrown yearly that make events held at the Playboy mansion look like vacation bible school. During this time I've noticed alot of exclusive and oftentimes expensive clubs that originate in some way in the UK, certain rallies come to mind like gumball and a few others.


    question for you guys, why is it that many of you "get it" and many over here across the pond don't? I've been reading alot of your publications as well, British GQ, Esquire and a few others that seem 1000x more highbrow that the same publication over here in the states. I hate to say it, but I must admit you have far superior taste over there for the beautiful and exquisite things in life.


    I'm also thinking that I'll come up against an unrecptive audience for the most part here in the states, so it makes sense to start harassing you British chaps for better or worse :)


    Cant mention the bacchanal publicly as I'm not a sponsor yet, but then again it may not be wise for me to even become a sponsor as it's intended to by an "invitation only" type event and public spamming/advertising would cheapen it a bit.

    That's a good point. I noticed that when I moved to the UK.

    I think it's because they make them very exclusive in the UK. For example, most of the really good nightclubs have membership. You have to pay a yearly fee which can be quite high. The reason they can do this is because there is a very high concentration of wealthy people in London who prefer to mingle with other wealthy people. They have private clubs for everything here.

    Members clubs in London aren't what they used to be. There aren't many left where it's literally only members and their guests who get in. It's not difficult to get into 99% of members club in London for a night out when ever you like. Annabel's is literally the only exclusive members club left in London. Home House isn't exclusive at all anymore.

    Plenty of cool members clubs like Shoreditch House, The Arts Club, Hospital Club and 5 Hertford Street in London but they aren't difficult to get into.
