    Hi,

Scanning all the threads the general conclusion seems to be that at some point ( when the original exhaust is rusted away ) one have to invest in a stainless steel one. Looks like I am approaching this state fairly soon on my 400i (# 40429).

Problem is that the car is registered in Germany. So my question is if anyone knows a manufacturer in Germany and whether there are some issues with the german TÜV when using a manufacturer outside germany. I am also interested in a trustworthy gararge ( around Düsseldorf) who can mount a new exhaust.

In addition, does anyone know how to find the production date of the car or some more info on # 40429

    Thanks for your help.

By the way, here is my car: http://www.grafipress.de/ferrari/

    Your car is superb.

I wouldn't think there is a problem sourcing the exhaust from outside of Germany. Eurospares in the UK might be able to help with supplying one, or Tubi.

You might be able to get more information from the official Ferrari Owners' site - you need to register your serial number with them and they'll get back to you with any information on the car such as original colour. You can also download owners manuals and homolgation papers from there, too. Another good source for info is the 400 register at http://www.400register.com/

    Cheers

    You have two possibilitys:
    1. Original Ansa, it is original, nice sound, cheaper but short live
    2. Tubi stainless steel, not original, without TÜV ( but no problem with the good mechanic ), sound is more sporty ( it is on yout taste ) 2 x more expensive , long live

Good garage is Sportwagenservice Schröder in Langenfeld

    Kai, your car is gorgeous!!
I dream of buying one too, but I keep on hearing too many stories that maintenance is so incredible expensive on this car.
This has kept me from taking that final step.

Enjoy the ride with this beauty!

I'll give you the best exhaust system for your car hand made at Maranello 100% stainless steel inside and out.I sell to Germany weekly these x-ost systems and will also supply you a certificate in case of need. But exhaust externally has same shape as original.

x-ost is engineered by a factory which have had years of experience in the racing automotive industry, they guarantee
better looks, better performance , excellent sound but most of all

they guarantee no resonance in your cabin ( other famous brands have resonance which is annoying on long drives )

please choose the sound you like from the three options:

    1) SPORTS Better than Stock exhaust for everyday use or the gentileman who prefers to enjoy a nice engine sound and better performance.

    2) RACING More aggresive than Sports, more engine Noise for the more Ferrari Formula 1 Enthusiast wanting a loud sounding Ferrari Engine Performance Sound.

    3) LE MANS A Very Strong TRACK Sound for the person wanting the Ferrari Challenge Sensation in sound.

Contact me at [email protected] and I'll give you a price and quality that no one can beat!!!

    Regards,
    Orlando

Thanks for all the replies. Since the car is in Duesseldorf (a town in central Germany) I was looking for someone in the neighbourhood.
The closest garage is Lueg Sportivo ( http://www.luegsportivo.de/ ).
Luckily they have a mechanic who learned on a 365 GT4 at the time. He is now responsible for all young timers of 365/400/412 series.

He knew some of the more known companies like Stebro and Tubi. In fact he mounted a Stebro exhaust not long ago on a 400 model.
He seems a really nice guy were I instantly felt my car being in good hands. So I am going to trust his advice.

    Thanks again
    Kai
