was going to be up in there (although dreading it), and figured I might as well replace the old corroded, leaking, manifolds and broken down heat shields.

not looking to spend a fortune here, and there's a reasonable set on fleabay currently, but says they are compatible with 1976-1980 models. the listing says they were taken off of a 1980 Australian GTS.

Ferrparts lists different part numbers for US 1976, AUS 1980, and US 1981. Does anyone know what the actual differences are between the manifolds/headers for these models?

I have a 1982 GTSi by the way.

Those have been on eBay for many months, or at least I checked them out many months ago. They look to originally be designed for the bolt on heat shields, but the threaded mounting tubes have been cut off and ground down if you look closely.

Earlier this year when doing research on exhaust manifolds the only differences I could find were the presence or absence of gas sampling pipes and type of heat shielding (wrapped alloy, or bolt on). The basic dimensions otherwise appeared to all be the same, but I can't say that with 100% certainly.

In the end I purchased a set on eBay that were clean looking but from a reputed 308 euro spec with bolt on heat shields. They were an exact fit to my existing muffler, so it worked out.

oh... yeah. how bout that. i suppose they expected the ceramic coating to be sufficient for heat concerns.

    thanks for the heads up.

I have Jet Hot silver ceramic coating on two non Ferrari cars, and found that coating to be very effective at heat reduction compared to bare stainless tubing. I went with Cerakote for the current set, but believe I will make the change to Jet Hot over the winter as I will be removing the RH fuel tank for repairs. And while I'm there....
