So I forgot to mention that I purchased a 430 coupe a small time back. I bought the car used with just over a thousand miles, an azzurro with tan interior. The car has capristo stage 3 and is a manual trans. I will try and get pics up later as I am very busy with work lately and find myself having little time to even drive the damn thing. The 430 is everything I could ask for, so much fun to drive, yet elegant and easy. The capristo system sounds amazing but I find that it cuts out a little and I am not sure why. The majority of the cutting out takes place in first and second gear, especially when I down shift from 2nd to 1st. I find that sometimes it is a little unpredictabe as well and it may cut out without notice. Most of the time though the car will rev up high then cut out around 6000 rpm then the sound will be back at about 4000 rpm. Can anyone tell me why this might be happening?

What do you mean by "cutting out"? Can you be more specific?

Is it just the sound thats cutting out? Is your Capristo "valved"?

More details will help the folks on the forum decipher your issue.

Okay so I called the shop where the system was installed, and basically the system was installed just prior to me purchasing the car with just over a thousand miles. There is a break in period which is more dominant in stage 3 capristo systems in which things may be a little jumpy. I have already noticed since last post that the cutting out has been occuring less frequently. I was told to give it a week or two and by the period the system should be broken in and if not I should bring the car in for further assessment. Just curious if anyone else has heard of "breaking in" on an exhuast system?
