That system has separate units for left and right. I think you are missing something by not having them join up. Most use an X pipe system balancing pulses and flow of the sides. Just an observation.

Thanks for your observation Vince, however there is nothing missing in this system. It works perfectly as it is, just because both cylinder banks are properly balanced. I know that most use X pipes, but this system is a different thing and it works. There are no problems when both banks are working fine and balanced, and if F1 engines don't use X pipes, why my 348 should?

I have read that flat plane crank engines do not require an x pipe or balance tube. I'm not an engineer , just something i have read in the past

We did see the best HP with the "X" type design when combined with high flow cats.

I ran a true dual (seperate) exhaust on my 308 for 15 years, never one issue. Many other 308 owners have done this as well. I've seen it done on 348's too and wouldn't hesitate to do it either on my 348. True dual is pretty loud and the "X" setup does offer some additiaonl noise cancellation.

There is no question that performance exhaust tuning/design is a combination of art and science that requires experience and knowledge.

A very good point, Meister. I am happy to know that I'm not the only F-Chatter who uses or have been using a true dual exhaust in a Ferreri (road legal) with a good report of it.

Thank you very much for your comment. Kind regards.

    Nice setup Moiluck!

Is the wrap from cat-back? Stock headers without a wrap? Wondering how much heat is reduced in the engine bay.

Thank you Randy, I'm glad you like it.

The exhaust is wrapped cat-back (cats included). The headers are not wrapped, however they have an insulating material under the covers that keeps the heat in the pipes. I can feel the engine bay cooler, but can't tell numbers because I have not measured it.

The other benefit of the exhaust wrap is that keeping the heat in the pipes makes it flow faster.
