    Hello,
This is a bit out place for this forum but here it goes..
I made a commend in the 355 forum which caused a few to get upset. My commend was that the 355 was not an exotic car.
In my opinion as an owner of a beautiful 355 an exotic is something like an Enzo, LaFerrari, V12 Lambos, 918, Zonda, F40, Bugatti, etc.
The 355 is an amazing sports car but it isn't an exotic.
The question that comes to mind is if the 355 is an exotic car what is Murcialago? A supercar?
If the Murcialago is a super car than what is the LaFerrari?
Just because it's a Ferrari it can't be a supercar because we all know there are some Ferraris that are NOT even good sports cars. Rarity comes to mind. There are other cars that are more rare but definatly not exotics either.
Anyways, the 355 people obviously will be bias because they love the 355. I am more interested in the point of view of the Enzo, LaFerrari, F40 people.

    Thoughts?

All these cars (Ferraris, Lambos, Astons etc) are exotics. Some are GTs (California), some others are super-(sports)cars (458) and the rare few are hypercars (LaFerrari).

Yes it is an exotic compared to almost all cars on the roads. It isn't compared to the f40 etc.

You're speaking in Absolute, Black or White. The cars you are referring to are Flagship cars, which fall under the umbrella of Exotic. The V8's like the 348 355 and V10 Gallardo are entry level. What you are failing to acknowledge is the Umbrella. All Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Paganis no matter what the model falls under that umbrella. Rarity, limited production, striking design, fast, unnatainable for its time or even now, cost of ownership, ownership numbers, how the general population views them, etc.

What a waste of time for the super car forum. And I have always been a "no such thing as a stupid question" however this changes my mind.

Go post your question on a Honda, MB, BmW, et all forum.

I think I'm going to head over to the GTO vintage car section (yeah I know we don't have one) and ask those guys if 355's are expensive.

I'm not angry at all - just pointing out this is very silly. Sorry for the rant your most likely bored and killing time, kinda like I am.

Your 355 is very special! How about that and no I'm sure your average Super Car collector doesn't consider his 355 the corner stone of his collection.

Now we are getting somewhere. ... Entry level exotic!
That makes sense. Because again when you say EXOTIC to me that says F40, Bugatti etc.

    Really?

    What a bizarre response.
Plenty of threads don't interest me, so I don't respond to them.

The question here is of course meaningless in any real sense, but it interests me that the responses so far have not been what the poster expected.
No big deal, and hardly worthy of a rant.

    Sorry to hear that.

    Hopefully your day improves.

Go and drive your exotic car. That's bound to help. :)

Entry level EXOTIC or flag ship EXOTIC. Doesn't matter the model you agree that it is an EXOTIC! End of story

In the UK we have the term "junior supercar". It used to refer to the the 348s of this world, as opposed to the full blown supercars that the Testarossa or the Diablo were. Nowadays though, the performance of the 458/488/Huracan is such that there is nothing junior about these cars, even though their bigger brothers are even faster.

    Anyway, semantics.

I took the mondial to run errands today and it drew a crowd at a parking lot. Lots of oohs and aaahs. It was like something from another planet to people. What an incredibly rarified and privileged life to consider a Ferrari not an exotic car. If you live somewhere that affords you a chance to see 355s on every corner then you're doing something right but should still enjoy the sighting each and every time.

When I brought my M3 to Williston,ND I got that same response from people. Most people never saw a car like that around here and threaded it like it was a space ship. About 90% of people here drive trucks and large SUV's. There are few Corvettes, Mustangs and Camaros here and there.

Never mind... Sorry for the bother. It's been proven that the 348/355 is an exotic.
