Went by the store on 48th and Park and it is closed up, signs down, paper over the windows. Obviously looks like they're gone and not just for a renovation.

Still showing the 280 Park location on their website.

Anyone know the story and if they're relocating elsewhere in Manhattan?

Just got off the phone with them and the rep said that they are closed and will be moving to Atlantic City in Ceasers Palace. Not sure how much sense that makes but that is what they stated.

Yeah, always wondered how they covered their rent at that location based on my observations about the traffic there.

It was a good place to pick up Auto Aficionado magazine though.

Interesting since the target audience of AC is elderly folks > 50 years of age.
Yep, that's what we need, old geezers whizzing around Atlantic & Pacific Ave in Exotics trying to pick up other retirees.

Gus, whaddya think since it's your backyard?

when was the last time you were in AC on a weekend? The Borgata and its huge renovation which is currently taking place tell you all you need to know.

I was in AC a few weeks back, and in the new Peir at Caesars there was a store front with a sign that said "Coming soon, Ferrari". Maybe that was it. I was hoping for maybe another Ferrari boutique.

The Peir is geared towards a younger crowd, full of nice high end stores, places to eat and bars.

And in it's day, the new Peir use to be called the old "Ocean One". It died a slow death. I was part of the consulting team who advised them not to build it.

Let's see.....You have the casinos who do everything they can to keep you inside & in the dark + Casinos who begrudgingly put money back into the city + you have a dubious city where it's not to swift to venture out into + you have beaches that are not easy to park near nor get to + you have a boardwalk not in the best of condition (esp. after any storm)

As to the Borgata...sure all age ranges hit A/C. They pick up business that falls off the mainstream retired crowd. That's good business sense. But it's similiar to the Las Vegas campaign of years past "Yes, we are now magically a family friendly place!" NOT!
