Exoticar Model Company Question . . . .

I think they still suck and I will never use them again. I'm sure others feel the same way I do and I'm surprise they are still in business. Just my 2 cents!

IMO, EWA is much better.....

 

I tried them multiple times and they were horrible each time. Actually raised the price after i ordered something and refused to ship it to me for the ordered price

 

Still? When did they ever start?

 

Bad service.
Bad schedule maintenance. (I waited four years for my Chaparrall).
Terribly high prices.
Great cars.
It's like cocaine, I'm adicted to the cars, but the pushers really abuse me and take advantage of me. I tried quiting, but I'm weak.
My best success is to buy exoto cars off of the internet from people that have them in stock. They even have better prices.
I just re-read your post and my post. You were asking about Exoticar, and I was talking about Exoto car........ Nevermind.

I used to order a lot from them.
I went the their manhattan store last weekend. It was supposed to open at 10am but no one got there until 11:30am and the store was a lot smaller than I expected.

 

You see, how can you provide good business to your customers if you're late to open the store.... and the "size of the store is getting smaller"... maybe the end is near for them... Great! Like I said before... "They SUCK" =0)

 

yea...you'd think having a store on park avenue...they'd make an effort to run it correctly and have a nice size store, though rent is probably astronomical. Customer service goes a long way.

 

customer service is everything.
I will never buy from exoticaragain. My first model order ever was from them and it was terrible. after waiting 3 months to get 3 of 4 models ordered, i was told that the 4th wasnt even on the market yet. i had to wait another 3 months after paying full price up front for something that was not marked in anyway to indicate it was not available.
they seem to make a habit of loading up the catalog with stuff thats coming but not out, and make no effort to indicate an expected release date.

find somewhere else to buy your models.

Horrible experience myself. I think I waited nearly 6 months to receive 2 models. I had actually forgot I ordered them when they arrived.

They need to shut down operation now, they have to know they have a tarnished reputation.

 

Had a bad experience with them too. I will probably never deal with them again. There are so many better alternatives.

 

I ordered some model from them before. bad experiance not a good company to do business with.

Got a flyer from Exoticar today--they have some great looking models, but after seeing this thread I won't be ordering from them...

 

I guess I am the lone exception. I have ordered thousands of dollars' worth of models and Ferrari clothes from them. I did always order on the phone and ask if the item was in stock before ordering. I did not pre-order or get on back order lists. I do not do that with anyone. I don't really trust the blind "click to order" of the internet. And Exoticar does put a lot of items on the website when they are announced, but not available yet. Manufacturer delays and cancellations reflect negatively on the retailer if they do that. So, some consumer diligence is required.

I visited the store/warehouse in Boston, and spent a few minutes talking with a few employees. They were nice and helpful; even gave me good directions when I called ahead and remembered my name from the call when I got there. Never a problem; you're milage may vary.

 

I used to get their catalog years ago & ordered from them without major issues (early 1990's) though I've heard of all the problems people have with the customer service & selling back ordered items, it's amazing they are still in business.

 

I guess that is what they do---They have tons of models I have never seen before in their catalog--I guess they are pre-order stuff-- I want these!!!

I ordered quite a few models from them and I did not have any problems, I was at their Palm Beach store and everyone was very nice and helpful. They are overpriced since I saw a F355 rear emblem selling for $250 and I just talked to Daniel and I can get one for $35.

 

Do not EVER deal with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

They are horrible, both pre- and post- sale. Use a company like Replicarz.com instead. Better selection, much better service.

 

Exoticar really is terrible, use EWA if you can!
