I know this has been touched on before, but the wife has been driving the Mondial T all this week to work and reported yesterday something I find typical. A 'dude' trying to challenge her [she ignored them] and almost causing an accident when he sped away from the common light.

    So.
Here's what I'm finding after several years of driving a Ferrari, no matter the model:
    - some young buck in anything, vehicle doesn't matter, just has that 'tude', sees the Ferrari and
    a. becomes either agitated
    b. becomes exuberant
    c. becomes over-zealous.

which, then translates into him [typically a male] doing pedal to the metal, some other exhibitionist moves, that are not normal under the circumstances. I never encourage nor even recognize these persons when I see the behavior.

The guys have jump started, in some cases, their adrenalin factor and go off down the road.

I'm wondering: They seem so pumped up sometimes, that I am almost certain they have not calmed down for at least five or more min.

Additionally, I'm wondering "How many peripheral accidents has this encounter help spur?" Do they, probably, continue this exhibitionist behavior enough to cause others to have 'road incidents' or worse?

I'll bet Ferrari's and Lambos have been the catalysts of future incidents without doing much more than acting normal. I can attest this happens more on the freeway than town, ['ricers' and their nitro units always are trying to jump me come to mind], but DO notice this in town driving too.

    any comments?

This happened to me earlier this year. Moron in a Mini Cooper tried to race me in a 2 lane exit ramp. He let off the throttle or hit the brakes about halfway through and snap oversteered into my lane, forcing me into the shoulder. I ended up gunning it to get out of his way and he hit the guardrail behind me. He ended up posting a story online saying I ran him off the road, pursued action through is insurance company, etc. Had all his buddies turn into internet Sherlock Holmes trying to find me. Nothing came of it of course because ultimately, he was just another idiot who wasn't willing to take responsibility for his actions. I get people trying to race me all the time, but there's a good reason I never do...

Ive nearly crashed several times when seeing exotics passing in the opposite direction. mainly due to not concentrating on the road. im sure most of us have done this though... also spotting an attractive female on the side of the road jogging... same problem

Ok, it's not a Ferrari - i'm 21 and at the moment driving a 96 Toyota Supra (not riced up) And last weekend i had some moron in a Ford laser with a big turbo badge on the back gun it off the lights and cut infront of me. wtf.. It's like they're trying to prove that they too have a quick car and feel they need to compensate.
I can imagine how much more often this would happen in a Ferrari/Lamborghini/Porsche..

I'm more worried about the SUVs that *DON'T* see the Ferrari.

If you drive a fast car, or one that is even presumed to be fast, and of course all Ferraris are fast simply because they’re Ferraris, there’s always going to be some cool dude with a tude wanting to try you out.
Coming home from lunch one day with my buddy I stopped at a light, and some dude mounted on his crotch rocket pulls up and decided my Boxer was fair game. He sat at the red light doing lots of wingadinging with the throttle, and when the light changed, took off like a rocket!
Now there’s no way on earth my old car is going to beat him on his new bike, nor was I interested in proving it, but I punched it some just to at least give him a shot of the red car in his rearview mirror. But at the first corner it was evident the rider didn’t know how to ride his scooter as he was all brake light, back tire out of shape, front tire wiggling all over the place! He almost got it stopped before he hit the roadside curb, but didn’t, and hit the curb and fell off his bike!
I was about 50 yards behind him when this happened, and slowed some, and as I passed, he was on his feet, and flipped me off as I drove by!
Cool dude, and I’m sure still had his tude, but hope he’s learned how to ride that thing before he killed himself!

A lot of times folks will hit the exotic as they drive to the direction they are looking at. I have done several appraisals where this was the cause of the accident damage. Happens more with Hot Rods and older exotics for some reason.
